Each week we will be picking a deck (or decks) to work with for the week. All are welcome. Please join us! The only rules we have are the Tarot Tea & Me rules; be respectful to each other. You can drop in and out, time and real life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in. 1. Please post with your chosen deck for the week. 2. This is the no rules-zone (except the usual TT&Me rules, be nice to others) Some of us use different decks every week (or two, or three) some use the same decks for longer. You can also use just one deck, or a couple. I'm going to be using the Anna K. and Hidden Realm, if I can get over a modern tarot set in a fairy land that's peopled by only white skinned fey.
Bodhiseed Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 This week I'll be using the Tabula Mundi Tarot (Nox et Lux edition) with its companion book Book M: Liber Mundi; both were self-published by M.M. Meleen. I'll pair with it the Universe Cards, a set created by Kay Stopforth and published by Thorsons. Today's draws are the Knight (King) of Cups and Red Dwarf: The Thoth Knight of Cups is, elementally speaking, Fire of Water. Fire is aggressive and on the offense while Water humbly seeks lower places to rest. No wonder the peacock with its symbolic eye of watchfulness is part of his package. It makes sense that this leader who seeks happiness and love for himself and others is always in the middle of a balancing act. He knows that even when we get what we want, we often find it doesn't satisfy us for long and we begin the search anew. Although they make up the largest population of stars in the galaxy, the radiance of Red Dwarfs is too dim to be seen with the naked eye. Thus Stopforth assigns them the keyword self-doubt, a variable often in play for those who've been burned by love before. The Knight of Cups would encourages us not to hide our light; our hearts might be safe by such an action, but we can still be miserable. Mistakes aren't failures, just guideposts to point us toward a different direction. In the constant shifts we experience, it may be wise to consider the words of Francis Kong: "What comes easy won't last long, and what lasts long won't come easy."

First Edition, I have a couple copies of the 2nd edition, and a 1st edition deck I had professionally trimmed (can I find that one? No! It's on my to-do list, as I prefer the trimmed 1st ed....) Mary-El is one of the few decks I have many multiple copies of including the majors-only deck I got before it was professionally published. I did just call my brother, who I'm very close to, and offered him the medical supplies I was recently using since he was injured in the same way and in the same location last night. Where am I going? Ace of Cups. Emotional satisfaction for myself alone. How will I get there? King of Rods. Endurance of spirit, strength of will. Perhaps a person with the KoR's qualities that I receive help or advice from.
