I'm looking for tarot or oracle decks which use dolls as the primary imagery. I've seen dolls used in one or two cards in a deck, but I'm wondering if there are any doll-themed decks.

I know of two, but because of licensing costs they were printed as personal decks only. I wonder if there are any on diviant art that you could print out yourself? Good wishes on the hunt!

@gregory Thank you! I should have specified that I'm looking for decks with doll photos rather than drawing of dolls- thankfully, that means I don't want either the Rope Doll or Salt Doll tarot decks (looked them up and oof. They would never be affordable to me if I did want them). Here's The Lovers from the Pastel Grunge Tarot as an example of the kind of thing I'm looking for:

I love the deck as it is but I imagine how it could have been if all its cards featured dolls, and... well, now I want a deck which may or may not even exist.

Ah. There is a huge issue with copyright, as AJ said. The manufacturers don't take kindly to it. I also know the ones she means and while I own one of them myself, it will never be widely available. There was this one:

http://tarotgarden.com/the-doll-tarot/ - majors only and VERY pricey.

Someone here is creating one - but it will be a long while before she's done. I think. I know a few people who contacted companies like Mattel - but were not allowed to use the images they had hoped for.

There was a Barbie one once - http://www.littlereview.com/meg/tarot/barbietm.htm - NEVER offered for sale - Mattel refused to allow it.

- but the only one I can find now is drawn, not photographed. And fugly !

That makes sense. It's a pity the manufacturers don't commission a deck themselves. I am hoping someone would make a deck with vintage dolls, like the majors-only one @gregory shared, or with dolls they made themselves, like the one Pernelle is making @LogicalHue Thank you!

I found a Bylthe doll RWS clone on Etsy and I'm hesitating because of the price. $78 and I'll have to pay $25 shipping on top of that. The deck is definitely not worth that much.

I also found another deck on Etsy called the Tarot of the Poppet Master and I really like the few cards shown in the listing. The artist made the poppets and props. I wish I could see a full deck reveal somewhere. Still, I know I'm eventually going to buy this one.

Most toy manufacturers really wouldn't want to get involved - not least because there are plenty of parents out there who would see it as an indication that they were in some way suspect... and so would avoid buying their toys.

That's true. There are a lot of dolls out there marketed to adults though, like BJDs. So I'll hold off just a little smidge of hope that I'll someday see the doll-deck of my dreams. ;_;

This isn't quite the same as dolls, but if you're looking for the cute, inner child vibes, it might scratch that itch, I think:

@Rori That is very cute indeed. Thank you!

Edited to add: it only ships to the United States, but all the same I hope it's backed into existence 😄

It was an extremely limited edition. Never exactly IN print !

There were at least two editions of it. I have one from the 2017/18 edition there also was an earlier one in 2015 and maybe there will be another one in the future, at least I found that on facebook today 🙂

Oh I have both versions. I was just saying ! I don't care about the limited nature of it, but I think she was concerned about copyright issues on the actual dolls....
