My name is J. After many years of dormancy my tarot interest has been rekindled and although it may cause eye-rolls, it was the Light Seer's Tarot images that hooked me again. Today I've just received the "This May Hurt" Tarot and its colors are breathtaking. I'm learning Lenormand and relearning tarot. Thankfully, when I sold off my decks in a big lot several years ago, I kept the gems (except one - Pearls of Wisdom first edition and I regret it) like the original Anna K., World Spirit Tarot, Hoi Polloi Tarot, and that ugly James Bond tarot that made me fall in love with reading all those years ago after seeing the movie. 🙂

I'm very thankful this forum exists.

eta: after reading other introduction posts I feel I've left out some good stuff. I have four dogs and Stankin' Ho (she's not a dog, but she is, but she's fifteen and my child and hasn't really been a dog for many, many years, lol). Two years ago something possessed me and I adopted four pit bulls from the shelter and they keep me running. Luckily I work from home and am able to love on them all day everyday. I am a musician, classically trained and educated on piano, self-taught on guitar and other instruments. I love India with all my heart and soul and travel there often and wish I could be there now to help in some small way with the pandemic crisis. I love to cook. I'm also learning drag queen make-up skills and beat my mug daily. 🙂

Ah, yes. I call that one the Dr. Quinn Tarot.
I do like the spookiness of it, though. I wish there were more Tarots that were neither smiley and nicey-nice, nor edgelord horror. Just spooky.

Not-Dogs are the best dogs.
I've had a lot of great dogs in my lifetime, but only a few became Not-Dogs.
Kind of like the Velveteen Rabbit, I guess.

The shelters are full of pits and bully mixes! Thanks for being a responsible pit person - so many aren't.

Maybe you can answer my burning question: what's a good no-fall eyeshadow? I work 12 hour shifts and I can't have a makeup bag on the line, so can't touch up....

Eyeshadow longevity is about the primer and the setting. Get a good eyelid primer and use it (P. Louise is the best or get Jouer concealer at Sephora). I recommend any and all of the following eyeshadow brands without reservation: Violet Voss, Juvia's Place, & Viseart. There are others, of course, but I can't vouch for them lasting. Then get the Urban Decay setting spray that is the super duper strength (like $32 per bottle but lasts forever) and give one mist/squirt to each eyelid and dry. You're set. I've fallen asleep before and the eyeshadow is still on and in place the next morning. 🙂

Yes, although we don't have an exact date yet!

welcome to the forum @thepaintedslag glad you have found us here  :animated-smileys-signs-085:

the dog family sound a lot of hard work, rewarding and loveable though 🙂

As a Pearls of Wisdom fan, there is the most modern edition out on gamecrafter I think (let me know if you want me to find the link for you sometime) and it's the best version so far. The wonderful artist Roxi was unhappy with the first 2 versions and the awful borders and many production problems. Finally she self-published and the full gloriousness of the deck has been reached

Thanks...do you have some kind of ballpark figure you're looking at?
We're getting close to the two week mark...you don't have to build the Taj Mahal over there! A few sections should be sufficient. 😉

Oh wow!! I am going to search now. I remember the mechanics and finish of the cards being troublesome, but loved the art. I'm off to buy it!!

Thank you all for the warm welcomes! I look forward to getting to know everyone.

@DanielJUK Thank you so much!!! I just went and ordered a deck. You've made my day!!!

Don't know why you went but happy tarot trails to you.

Maybe you come back someday.

I think that just meant they went to order the deck... though they do seem to have left now.

Sadly not long after joining the forum, they asked us out of the blue to close their account which is of course their right 😢

I am going to lock this thread now because they cannot reply to your messages
