I've had such an intense year last year with purchasing decks that I feel I must focus more on working with my decks and really think through any new purchase... and I guess we don't have a TOADIE thread here either. I never quite understood if that thread was supposed to help people slow down or encourage the madness, to be honest :P

 

IKR? Got a storm of decks last year, and now I'm swimming in the surfeit. A reading told me distinctly that I must hold off on purchasing too much and enjoy all the things that I have first, but that was the plan for this year anyway. I'm just mightily tempted with all the amazing decks coming our way this year, but I shall try my best to exhibit Temperance.

 

Also, I thought that they were trying to be ironic in thise TOADIE threads, but we never know.

 

I'm with both of you. I actually made pre-orders for a couple of decks coming out this year (Hedgewitch Botanical Oracle and Enchanted Spell Oracle), but then canceled them after thinking about it more and realizing how many decks I've gotten that I've barely touched. I still have a couple of decks coming that I backed on Kickstarter (ETA Tarot, Marigold Tarot, Goddess Blessings Oracle); I will ABSOLUTELY be purchasing the forthcoming Lunaea Weatherstone/Meraylah Allwood deck the second it becomes available, and we'll see if I end up buying a couple more this year. But this is definitely a year for me to focus on exploring what I have. I'm going to rely on DotW to help me work through more of my collection, especially when it comes to oracle decks since I tend to be especially bad with collecting those and then not using many of them!

 

Oh yeah, I'm TOTALLY limiting my deck buying this year. But...ahem...

 

Sooo I'd had my eye on the Green Wheel Oracle for months, ever since the crowdfunding campaign. I forced myself to put it out of my mind. But after hearing Raggydoll[/member] and Flaxen[/member] talk about it in the lunar group reading thread...sigh...I could not resist. I have a feeling the lunar group is going to inspire more than a few purchases from readers  :P

 

It just arrived today, and I have to say I'm super happy I bought it. This deck was really calling to me, and I think it will be wonderful for seasonal and lunar practice, which as you all know are some of my favorite things. Plus, it arrived on Imbolc! That has to be a sign :D

 

I saved a few dollars on shipping by ordering it from a US shop that's stocking it, The Fernie Brae in Portland. I spoke to the creator and she told me that was the one US shop that's carrying it so far.

 

AND, my pre-ordered Emerging Toronto Artists Tarot arrived today!! I am just a lucky girl today- two new decks! Excited about that one as well :D

 

Ok, now back to my deck buying moratorium. For real this time.

I've decided to increase the number of oracle decks I have which are few compared to my Tarot deck collection, so today I bought the Rumi Oracle, and am now waiting for The Wisdom Keepers Oracle Deck (Coloured Version).

I finally received my Aquarius Tarot (by Dawn Aquarius, MercuryMagicians on Etsy)! This is the first edition that was limited to 100 copies. (There is a second and final edition available right now, limited to 50 copies). I haven't had much chance of using it yet, but so far I really like it! <3

I just ordered the Anima Mundi from Beth @ Little Red Tarot and I am SO excited for it to get here. I've had my eyes on this ever since I saw the Kickstarter campaign and I was overjoyed when LRT started stocking it. I'm EU based so it means less of a wait in terms of delivery :)

I ordered the Gilded Reverie Lenormand Expanded Edition and the The Complete Lenormand Handbook by Caitlin Matthews but they won't arrive for a couple of weeks according to Amazon Market Place sellers.  Thought I would try Lenormand out.  To tide me over while I wait I picked up the Tarot of the Hidden Realm today at a local metaphysical store.  Love the art, and love faeries so I am hoping I will enjoy this deck.

Totally bizarre impulse purchase today I simply can't explain. I bought one of three remaining Norse Tarot decks Clive Barrett has left in his personal possession. I'm not even into Norse Mythology and it has very busy borders. Comes with no box or companion book just a short LWB. The reviews aren't even that great. Sigh. Perhaps it is just meant to come to me. I'm blown if I can fathom quite why I bought it.

The Froud Faeries Oracle is a very special, unique, and amazing deck.  Make sure to follow the exercises at the beginning of the book it will really enhance your connection to them.  I have carried mine in my purse for the last 17 years or so.  I really hope you connect with them, if you do you will find they are much much more than a deck of cards  :))

I hope so too! I have yet to find an oracle I really get along with but I don't think I've ever seen anyone be unenthusiastic about these cards. They seem to be very special and I look forward to trying them out for myself  :))

This oracle is nothing short of amazing! The best one I've found, to date. I've had it since it first came out and I absolutely love it! So glad you're getting it Page! :D

Today the postman bought me my Tarot of Prague - it's the standard edition with cold stamping together with companion book. It is so beautiful! The cold stamping is a lovely feature and now I can't wait to see how the latest VR will look.
