Day Soleil Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 I was buying art supplies on Amazon today and they "recommended" I buy the Ostara deck, which I've had my eyes on since the start but wasn't sure about for various reasons. On a pure whim I said "yep, ok" and added it to my cart. Compared with the art supplies, it was like a free gift. Should be here in a few days. Side note: there's a reason artists are poor. Art stuff is so expensive. Agree! I also have that deck in my wish list. I haven't watched a flip-through or reading on YouTube of it yet, so am not allowing myself to buy it until I do. How do you like it?

This will bring my total number of decks to 8, thanks to a month on this site, when I started with 3. :) Hip Chick deck: I saw an online flip-through and fell in love with the contemporary, diverse, feminist-centered orientation. The bold colors are such a different look to the decks I have, which are all pretty dreamy/surreal with the exception of R-WThelema Tarot: I saw the 10 of cups Saturn Celeste[/member] posted to card favorites and knew I needed to investigate this deck. I bought it because the price is so low on Amazon right now (under $15). Am excited to have ONE deck that closely follows the traditional R-W symbolism instead of my usual surreal/out-there deck choicesSpirit Oracle cards: I have passed over this deck in stores so many times b/c the cover looked so pink and flowery and fluffy. But my favorite online reader used it to pull a 2019 message for each sign. Mine was the Nightingale and I fell in love with it. Am not a big "oracle card" person - have given most of mine away except for Lord Ganesha because they just don't "speak" to me as deeply as tarot

I use it often in relationship readings. It is sweeping elegance!!

Thoughtful Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 l thought l would treat myself to Legacy of The Divine, not a new deck l know but it has been at the back of mind for ages. It was on sale for a very good price at Ebay. Received it Thursday am so pleased l have it. The book was a wonderful read, yes l read it in a day could not put it down! and the cards are as the title suggests divine. Its cheered me up no end, can't wait to read with this tarot.

There are two Knights of Cups and there is no Knight of Swords, but ..... on one card of the Knight of Cups there is a signature - "Knight of Cups" ... And the same situation with the Queen of Coins ...(two Queens of Swords)), but signature is correct. How does it mean ? X-D

Then I caved and went back to the shop yesterday for the Tarot of the Animal Lords, even though I'm trying to just work with my Centennial RWS. While I don't love every card, I do love a lot of them, and I quite like the overall style. I didn't want to miss out on it over indecision, and figure I can move it on if it doesn't end up clicking with me.

It's too bad there isn't more of a book to go with it, but I think the animals were chosen with some care. I haven't looked into them all too much, and I'm still new to Tarot, but I think the praying mantis as Queen of Swords, at least, is probably a good fit - even if it put me off for a moment! The Tower card shows a beaver and the remnants of his dam being swept away by the current, which fits well for me. Unfortunately, all I can think about with the Sun card is the Norwegian Olympic men's curling team... it's got two rabbits in argyle trousers. ;D The deck is sure to add another dimension to my studies. Yes, he's happy with his new decks, and still has several more he would like. He's mostly in it for the cards themselves. :shhh: He's quite fond of cards and dice... Part of the reason he so wanted the Tea Leaf Fortune Cards is due to there being 200 cards, and round to boot! But he has had fun with a few readings for himself. :)

That's what I did with my Shadowscapes deck and Llewellyn mailed me my missing card. I'm unfamiliar with the "Basic Tarot"
Day Soleil Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Very happy to report that Llewellyn mailed me my missing King of Pentacles for the Shadowscapes deck I ordered from Walmart.com. Can't wait to start reading with this deck now that it's complete. Also very excited to have ordered the Green Witch tarot. I had Dreams of Gaia and Dreaming Way in my cart as well, but removed them at the last minute, as I'm already over my monthly budget buying TWO decks this month. But I'm pretty stoked about the Green Witch deck.
