rylla Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 FYI is anybody is interested in the Jumbledance- Genetti is not shipping outside US from the etsy site but if you acces her website - she does ship internationally. That's how I've got mine.
Teemu Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) Mmm, just ordered the transparent tarot as well. 🙂 Teemu Edited February 17, 2023 by Teemu
rylla Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Got the Le tarot aux ramures etranges. Expressive in its simplicity and a beautiful deck although I rarely buy deck that are all feminine. I miss the balance and it seems unrealistic to me as the real world (reflected in its essence by tarot ) is not like it.

Sartori Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I decided and bought a 1JJ Swiss tarot for the collection (it will be as a variant of the Besancon). One thing is strange - everyone writes that this is a copy of the deck of the 19th century, but there are no photos of the original cards of this deck issued before the 1960s of the 20th century...
akiva Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 @Sartori do you mean you want images of the deck before 1960? There are some scans on gallica of the besancon from the 1700s
peacewing Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Found a deck today and did an impulse buy.... The Cats Rule the Earth tarot... RWS kind... It looks so cute! And I might have ordered another deck too...
Niobium Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 A lot showing up for me suddenly! My Book of Shadows arrived yesterday, and my Earth Tarot and one from Tevada, a sort of Usagi Yokimbo deck, are en route. I also took the plunge with testing out direct-purchase from taobao, rather than using ebuy7 as an intermediary. My test case is WohStudio's latest, the Epigraphic Tarot by Siren's Bagpipes (of the Broken Mirror Tarot). I'll report back on how it goes!

I'm in the US, and though they offer an English interface it only localizes maybe 1/3 of the site, so I had to use Google translate and a few how-to sites to sort it out. When purchasing from ebuy7 it was initially close to 3 months to receive things, but my last purchase only took a couple of weeks. So we'll see.
DanielJUK Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Part of the joy of deck buying internationally is translating baskets as you are checking out 🙂 Google Translate and researching sentences online to work out what the hell that question is with a long answer field! 🤣 Hope it goes successfully @Niobium 🤞

That's interesting - I buy their stuff from Vermilion, who I thought had ALL of them... Taobao troubles me - it's owned by alibaba.....

They are discussed in Kaplan's Encylopedia Vol 2. There are copies in a number of Swiss museums. This is the 1865 edition from Rauch. There are differences, as you'll see if you compare them to the AGM one.

I ordered Kaplan's Encyclopedia on eBay, but so far only Vol 1.
Sartori Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 @akiva No, I've seen Besancon-style decks. I was interested in the Swiss 1JJ, with which, according to legend, Kaplan had an interest in Tarot.

Taobao troubles me - it's owned by alibaba..... This is my one concern, that unfortunately, in the same way that eBay and PayPal are joined at the hip, so are taobao and alibaba. Hard to avoid, though. I think what's been happening is Vermillion licenses the deck for publishing (eg. in the US or Europe or etc) from WohStudio, so they may or may not nab this one. Eg. they've not yet printed the Notes Taro, which was one I got direct from looktarot (who in turn I think have a batch from WohStudio). I'll post pics when--if??--it arrives. (Theoretically it is now on its way from China.)
BradGad Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Oh I love my post man. He brings me stuff, and asks nothing in return. My dog Ikes him too, for he often brings treats. Soonish, two Lenormand decks... the Warshagen and the Maybe. Wish me well. I want to play too.
RunningWild Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 I got a little extra money this month and ordered Magicians, Martyrs, and Madmen and the paperback copy of the book. yay me!
Guest Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Finally, the Magickal Botanical Oracle. This coming week is pretty special so I can't wait to read with it.
Vesta Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I've been studying the Tree of Life, Paul Foster Case, the Hebrew alphabet, and Wang's Qabalistic Tarot. Feeling a little burnt out, I decided to take a break with something completely different and ordered Brian Froud's Faeries' Oracle. I like the art and the reviews say it reads well. When I was in London long ago, I bought a copy of Katherine Brigg's A Dictionary of Fairies at a used bookstore for a couple of pounds. I'm glad I did because nowadays used copies seem to be selling for well over $100! Does anyone here find that book useful for learning the cards?

She had a booth there and I fell in love with her work. I have Belladona and Cannabis Sativa. I bought a couple others for friends. Her artwork is lovely.
Misterei Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 (edited) I've gotten much slower about purchasing decks now. NO impulse buys. I sit with the decision for a long time before pulling the trigger. That being said ... I'm waiting on Brut tarot which is OOP ... and my emails asking if they will reprint went unanswered. Anyway, I found a copy on ebay that wasn't too crazy expensive. I've wanted this deck for months. It goes with Keymaster and Fernando Crippa, (playing card hybrid modern style) . And yes ... I'm that kind of sick b8tch who organizes my darlings into families. Keymaster and Crippa told me they were lonely and wanted Brut as their sibling. God help me. Another happy find. I have a friend who's really into norse heritage. I've wanted to buy Norse tarot for her ... but for months I was unable to find it in stock. Just today I got email from the fellow, Clive, who makes the deck. The shipping from UK to USA is INSANELY expensive ... almost as much as the deck ... but I'm so happy he got back to me. It's a bit of serendipity b/c her birthday is in April ... fingers crossed I get it in time. Edited March 12, 2023 by Misterei

Sad that it has only thirty-three cards, I would've been glad to pay double for more. 38 minutes ago, Misterei said: ... I'm waiting on Brut tarot which is OOP ... That's a good find. Huge fan of anything Uusi. They should make more divinatory decks, though I guess you simply can't rush quality.
