I'm going to go another week with my Book of Azathoth Tarot.  Lots to look at in this deck.

I'm in with the Hidden Realm Tarot paired with the Heart of Faerie Oracle.

Hope you all have a great weekend! 🍁

After some debate I'm going to be using the Stolen Child Tarot for awhile, at least 2 weeks, then maybe some seasonal decks for October.    👻

This week I'll be using the Tarot of the Hidden Realm, created by Julia Jeffrey with Barbara Moore, and published by Llewellyn. I'll also be drawing from the Heart of Faerie Oracle created by Brian and Wendy Froud and published by Abrams. Today's cards are the Seven of Swords and Bright Spark:

A young warrior pauses to look to the stars for guidance before deciding to engage in battle. Who will his actions benefit ― himself, a select few, or all? What might the long-term consequences be? Is he being driven by his own passionate views or led by the frenzy of the group? The choice he makes can alter his future. Bright Spark symbolizes those small moments of inspiration or illumination that we may miss because our minds are so busy trying to out-think and out-maneuver what lies before us. Yet in the stillness and quiet, spiritual nudges may come from the luminous mind (the non-egoic wisdom within). Follow that inner light.

May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out.

A really nice reading, @Bodhiseed, and I do love that pairing! Being in each moment possible is key. It is cool seeing the Heart of Faerie Oracle; I have the first Brian Froud deck, but never went for the second before it was OOP.

This week, I will be using the Phantasmagoric Theater Tarot. It is a real favorite, but the large size means I do not often travel with it, etc 🙂 Even if a favorite deck is large and I use it often, if I can’t travel too easily with it, that tends to affect the frequency of its use! I wonder if that is the case for anyone else.

@vulprix, I didn't realize the cards of the Phantasmagoric were so large. Every time I see scans of those cards, I feel like I'm watching a play or cartoon by Tim Burton! 😊

Oh, thanks for reminding me about the Phantasmagoric vulprix, even though it's not strictly a fall season tarot, it can slide into the niche if I want it too.  And such a great deck.

@VGimlet and @vulprix, since it is sort of a nontraditional deck, is the Phantasmagoric easy or intuitive to read with? With both of you praising it, I'm curious about it now 😊

@Bodhiseed I found it pretty easy to read with, I use a mix of traditional and intuitive reading (with all my decks).   I wouldn't recommend it to a first time beginner reader - unless they were captivated by the deck.   I think connection can go a long way with nontraditional decks.

Thanks @VGimlet - I agree about connecting with a deck and being able to read with it.

i agree with VGimlet and want to add more heaps of praise for the Phantasmagoric. Not only do its images really spark my intuition from surprisingly deep places, but then the guidebook will sucker punch me with a really pointed perspective on my query whenever I consult it! I also find the characters really relatable and refreshing.

Ooooo, intuitive images and a good guidebook - my resistance is slipping. 😄 Thanks @vulprix!

No problem!! I should maybe note the guidebook is really a LWB… but don’t let the size fool you 🙂

Kinda does what the Joie de Vivre and other LWBs do, where each character has a name, scene, and story.
