Tarot timings major and minor arcana

Hi I stated my tarot journey last year and slowly learning and reading cards.  While reading I get many doubts, one of the major issue is with timings in tarot.  Though I refer I am not sure which is correct.  I am mostly confused with major arcana timings.  Please if somebody can help me with this.  I got empress for when will somebody get a job.  As it is major arcana, I don't know how to go about it   please help me.  Thank you in advance.

I think it's good to pick a system that you'll use for timing and then stick to it. That way the cards should turn up in a way that answers your questions.

Off the top of my head, two ways you could look at the Empress in terms of timing: the card shows it's a time of abundance - with the RWS deck you can see the wheat is ready for harvest, so you could say Fall.
Or... because The Empress is ruled by Venus, you could choose timing based on astrology - e.g. Taurus or Venus and go by the dates for those signs.

Hi @Mermaid I think there is no one way of doing timing. Everyone has a different method doing it, so you just have to find the best way for you 🙂 ⏲️

 

Some people believe that Majors represent the energy in your life right now and the minor arcana represent future timing. So you cannot do timing with them.

Some people use astrology with the Majors, like @Pretzel's idea above. Or how they look in the card art (Summer, Winter, etc)

I will agree with what @DanielJUK said about Majors timing, and I was also going to say that. And with readings using most any card, I feel the expectations are almost immediate, to that week, but not weeks or months down the road. The Empress for a job switch could show there's abundant opportunity right then. Or the card could also say to the sitter, "present yourself during the interview with a lot to offer," as in sell yourself to show a desire for the job, show the employer you will be a good fit for their company.
