Bodhiseed Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 I'm in with the Margarete Petersen Tarot paired with Elemental Dice. Thanks VG!💓
vulprix Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 (edited) Hi all 🙂 I’ll be accompanied by the Linestrider Mini Tarot this week, as well as the Spiritsong Tarot. Edited January 8, 2022 by vulprix
Madame Squee Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 Thank you for the thread, VG! 🏂 I struggled and failed to keep up last week, but I'm back anyway! Tarot Jacob Joerger 1801
Mi-Shell Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 This week I will continue to do my daily morning reading with the Crow Tarot, BUT: I am also working with the Mirror Truth Lenormand Deck, which I got for my B- day. The cards are large and very beautiful ♥ I am an absolute Lenormand newbie and am learning the card meanings.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Wyrdkiss Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 (edited) Getting in touch this week with the Tarot of Shadows, a Russian release. This unique tarot / oracle hybrid warrants using the major and minor arcana separately in readings. I own the deluxe (shown here), a standard English, and the Russian was gifted to me years ago, before it even hit the states. I want to isolate some problematic issues in my life with this deck over the course of seven days, and apply to my goals for the year. ( I do a number of goals, not one big and often abandoned resolution!). See you here soon. Edited January 8, 2022 by Wyrdkiss
Rachelcat Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 I’ll be using another new acquisition this week, Starcodes Astro Oracle from Hay House. It’s a pretty normal astro oracle, with signs, planets, and houses. It also includes the moon nodes, some asteroids, the angles (incorrectly called “cardinal points”), a few aspects, and, interestingly, “Transits” and “Progressions,” for a total of 56 cards. I recently got Heavenly Bodies Astrology, another astro oracle, which I quite like, but it’s very ethereal and so doesn’t pair well with my favorite tarot decks (when I use the house cards for spread cards). Starcodes is the perfect antithesis. Self-described as “boldly illustrated,” it has a steampunk meets sacred? geometry vibe. The artist is Lucas Lua de Souza, a tattoo artist. The author is Heather Roan Robbins, who publishes an astrology column called “Starcodes.” I’ve already pulled out the houses to use as spread cards, but then I put everything back in order. So time for a serious wash and shuffle, then on to the interview. Most important characteristic: Scorpio, Investigate The deck is a tool for investigating mysterious things. It can be surprisingly deep, considering I think I know enough about astrology at least for using astrology cards! We’ll see if that’s true! Strength: Capricorn, Achieve The deck is the result of an effort to achieve something really good. Not a hack job. It wants to be the top of its field. Weakness: Pluto, Rebirth Pluto is a ruler of Scorpio and shares its concept of depth. So maybe the deck is a perfectly good oracle, but not as deep as it wants to be? What can I learn? Ninth House, Exploration But there’s still a lot of astrological info I can learn! The deck will encourage me to expand my astro studies. How do I learn it? Uranus, Change I can buy into that by learning new things and maybe changing my mind on some concepts I think I already know. Outcome of our work together: Eleventh House, Community The deck and I will become good friends. And maybe using it will put me in contact with some more astrologically minded friends! Well, that wasn’t an easy read. We’ll see how I do the rest of the week!
Amberjune Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 The William Blake Tarot and the Victoria Frances Oracle Cards for me. Wishing all a great week!
VGimlet Posted January 9, 2022 Author Posted January 9, 2022 (edited) After trying to figure out what deck I was going to use for a month, the Macabre Tarot arrived in the nick of time and I'll be using it this week. I had to buy it because of the box alone, hahaha. (I'll try and take a picture and share it..tomorrow.) I like the look of that Starcodes Astro Oracle deck @Rachelcat, it's very intriguing. Tarot of Shadows is also interesting @Wyrdkiss. I planned to cut down on deck purchases this year, but hmmmmm. Edited January 9, 2022 by VGimlet
Bodhiseed Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 This week I'll be using the Margarete Petersen Tarot, created by Petersen and published by Königs Furt. The oracle I'll be using is the Elemental Dice, an idea developed by my good friend Carole Beasley. Today's card and dice roll are the Daughter of Coins and Tsunami (Darkness + Water): The Daughter (Page) of Coins is earth of earth, a person who relates to the world in physical and practical ways. Her five senses guide her investigations as she explores and learns, looking to put her knowledge to constructive use. Her balance (seen in her tree pose) is grounded in what she can see, touch, taste, smell and hear; she prefers to ignore anything mystical or numinous. The Tsunami, a huge wave caused by a displacement of water due to a quake or volcanic eruption, can wash away all that is familiar in an instant. It represents those moments when we feel groundless and overwhelmed with worry or panic and lose our balance. During times like these we may find ourselves crying out to something greater than our egos, as we search for a tether of understanding. Our insight doesn't need to be a religious explanation or label, nor does it mean we ignore science; it is just something that makes our hearts feel held and loved. God arrives in the transitions— the times between before and after the shatterings, bendings, breakings moments of devilment and blasted pose— The feeling then arises, a draft in the system tiny shaft of light in the visual field which, when noticed and affirmed, opens out to an aura on the screen of eclectic ineffability— One’s arms open in quietude and perplexity There’s nothing to say, do, or think ~Zoketsu Norman Fischer

Hoping to see more of them.
Wyrdkiss Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 OK, this Shadow Tarot (which I incorrectly referred to as the Tarot of Shadows initially) is compelling and unique. I will skip the details of my personal reading. I will say I emoted and highlighted my internal fears to the letter with one card from each the Major and Minor arcana. A bit of background on the deck: Vera Sklyarova, from Russia, seems to take a theistic approach to the presence of shadow work. She is, however, attempting to dispel or shine the light on the negativity in the users life. Illuminate, and integrate. While the imagery can be disturbing, i've noted the intent is good. The one caveat is that some spreads "scan" the intent and integrity of others. I personally have no problem with that and have done so from the start of my tarot journey. This is by far the most (and only) Abrahamic style deck I work with. I have no affinity of the Christian paradigm; I find even the R-W-S deck annoying. Yet, it takes a unique approach. let me explain: It uses parable and Judeo-Christian mythology to emphasize growth opportunities, yet the book (which is excellent) does not by any means sugar coat the contradictions and abuse found within the Old and New Testament. Instead, the author utilizes the core reality of the Bible's portion to assist the querent. I will detail this with the Minor Arcana "Job" (the biblical person) in card form later. The major and Minor arcana are drawn separately in the deck. In some spreads she provides, The Majors serve only as the Significator. That is a reading style I don't normally use, but regarding this pack Significators work well. They are chosen by the reader, after hearing out (or pondering if solo) the situation. A pic of other guidelines for the reading approach is included here. and lastly, enclosed is a pretty cool spread which uses two decks -- the Shadows Tarot and another of your choosing, preferably a tarot not an oracle. The bottom of the triangle is where the shadows reside, and that deck's cards are placed there. I am loving this ride, although at times it can be a bit unsettling to read with. Not the imagery, but the honesty and accuracy. In my next post, I will dive into the cards XII EXORCISM and PEONIES (the flowers). feedback and questions welcomed.
vulprix Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Color me intrigued, @Wyrdkiss! I eagerly await your next post! @Bodhiseed, what an interesting combination this week. I love the ever-grounded, rooted nature of the Daughter of Coins, and then the upended nature of the tsunami dice roll. I actually read a short story this past week from Lauren Groff's collection, Florida, about a woman who lasts through a hurricane, and your reading really resonated with the themes of that story. (By the way, totally loving the collection so far ☺️)
Bodhiseed Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 @vulprix, I've lived that story! I'm in GA but right above the panhandle of FL, and we got hit pretty hard by hurricane Michael a few years ago. Could be why you connected the two. @Wyrdkiss, I'm with vulprix - that's an intriguing way to use a deck!
Bodhiseed Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Since @Wyrdkiss expressed an interest in the Elemental Dice, I thought I'd share the six sides and their correspondences. I drew these designs and had a lovely woman who used to own Alaska Laser Maid burn them on some cubes. Most of the correspondences came from my buddy Carole (who came up with this idea), but a few were changed by me. SKY: Air + Air LIGHTNING: Air + Fire CLOUD: Air + Water DUST: Air + Earth WIND: Air + Light TORNADO: Air + Darkness SPARK/COMBUSTION: Fire + Fire STEAM: Fire + Water VOLCANO: Fire + Earth SUN: Fire + Light WILDFIRE: Fire + Darkness OCEAN: Water + Water RAIN: Water + Earth RAINBOW: Water + Light TSUNAMI: Water + Darkness LAND: Earth + Earth MOUNTAIN: Earth + Light EARTHQUAKE: Earth + Darkness DAY: Light + Light DAWN/DUSK: Light + Darkness NIGHT: Darkness + Darkness

I am fully intrigued, have an affinity for the symbols, and am curious about the definitions of the different combinations rolled. Any plans to produce these for sale?
Bodhiseed Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Well technically, they are not my intellectual property to sell since my friend came up with the idea. I just drew the symbols.😊 I know she's not interested in selling them (she's in Australia), which is why I designed my own (after getting her permission).
Rachelcat Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 @Bodhiseed, these are beautiful! And I love your combination interps. All very mystical and creative! (I have an Alaska Laser Maid rune set and card stand. Love them!)
