Queen of Pentacles as Feelings

November

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, what can mean the Queen of Pentacles in terms of feelings?

I see this lady as someone very nurturing who takes care of their loved ones, a very committed and reliable person, so perhaps as feelings this card means loving someone in this way?

What do you think?

Thank you.

In my journal of notes I have made about each card over the years, I have nurturing circled as a keyword for the QofP! 😆

She is earthy with the Pentacles and material. Feelings could be feeling secure, feeling very comfortable, feeling looked after and cared for.

Thank you @DanielJUK, I agree, feeling comfortable and secure makes sense with this card.

And what about the physical side? I mean, Pentacles are also about the body, so maybe as feelings the Queen of Pentacles speaks of sexual attraction too? 🤔

It will of course depend on what deck you use and the surrounding cards. But for the RWS, I would not consider sexual attraction as a general interpretation for QoP.

QoP is a person that doesn’t play games or put up pretenses. She’s not fickle. So the feelings she represents would be warm and genuine affection; a caring and considerate type of partner.

Strongly so, as well as your personal "baseline/habit" you develop when reading her (the card).

For the RWS, I'd like to add "... if you are a part of her garden.", but that is just my personal inclination.

With the TdM, I tend to read her slightly different, to put it short: More focused on her own intentions (which tend to be lasting, yes), with an aspect of opportunism. Add the virtue and/or vice (tendency by cards in direct vicinity) of a strategizing mind, et voilà.

Hi Raggydoll, thanks for commenting. Yes, I'm using RWS and actually also to me sexual attraction doesn't really make sense with this card..

I agree with your take, this lady's feelings are genuine, real, concrete.

Thank you for commenting Mister. I'm using RWS and I agree she cares about you only if you're in her garden, but I think that also your other interpretation makes sense.

I see Queen of Pentacles as a sensual type and sometimes interpret the card as a message to pay more attention to the physical body and to value the senses.

Thank you Jasmine, yes sensuality makes sense.

Yes, I'd agree about the nuturing aspect of this card.  However, being Queen of Pentacles rather than Queen of Cups, I'd say her brand of nuturing is very practical and commonsense.  She'll ensure that the bills get paid on time, the food is on the table, the clothing is washed and ironed, the homework is done, the holidays are planned for, the tasks are finished, etc. The Queen of Cups will tend to be more empathetic and emotional with her nurturing, offering a shoulder to cry on, praise, encouragement, even to the extent that she can become a bit smothering, if negatively aspected—shielding loved ones from the big bad world, helicoptering them, constantly fretting about their health and happiness.  The Queen of Pentacles, on the other hand, if negatively aspected,  may be a bit too focused on routines, on being organised, neat, tidy, etc.

For me, this is a one-liner.

This card in a meaningful position means a feeling of contentment.

Queens can be active (they can be mentors, agents, support-people in the best way)…

But not, I think, this queen.

I have a notebook. I have been refining it. Right now it says “contentment,” and that’s what I see in the RWS versiobn of the card.

I also see relection and pondering, but those are not feelings. “Contentment” is a feeling.

(When I first saw the question, for some reason I couldn’t get the RWS picture of Nine of Coins out of my head. Now that’s a fun card.)

Thank you @Chariot, yes surely these Queens love in different ways. Anyway I agree about what you said for the Queen of Pents, both positive and negative meanings.

Hello @BradGad, thank you for commenting! Yes, contentment seems to be the perfect description of this Queen's feelings! It makes sense and it makes also sense she reminds you of the 9 Pents lady.
