Jasmine Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 My initial thoughts were about gossip. Maybe they are a little too talkative and might not keep to themselves what you tell them. Might not be a good idea to tell them secrets. Any other thoughts?
November Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) I agree the Page of Swords can represent this, but I think he may also stand for someone who always wants to have a say in a discussion. He's very like a know-it-all for me. Or maybe, since you're asking about intentions, the card is just saying this person wants to talk with you.. Edited October 13, 2022 by November
Jasmine Posted October 13, 2022 Author Posted October 13, 2022 @November thanks, they are good points.
DanielJUK Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I am going to use the RWS image as an example of this card but the young active guy, stands on a rugged hillside and holds the sword upright with both his hands. Not just one hand, he is really making sure it is held up and his intention here is to defend himself, he is waiting to be attacked. In the background of the card, there are dark clouds in the sky and it looks like a storm is coming and it's windy (his hair and the trees look windblown), there is a lot of energy in the weather in the background. He is alert and ready for the enemy at any moment but what if he thought the enemy was coming but is actually wrong? He is ready but he might have been too enthusiastic on this? That's the Page right here, he is immature in the Swords energy of the suit and has a lot of energy behind him. They want to be ready to defend themselves. Their immature flaw is that they have a big mouth and they don't think before what they say. They want to communicate their thoughts and they have many plans and ideas for the future but they find it hard to express it constructively. They might want to debate with you but they make their arguments and really push their point but then you can just reply with, where is the evidence of that? They forgot to back it up! They might be too honest, they tell you the truth but don't have the experience of the King in saying it sensitively. So they might be too blunt, even causing offence. The traditional meaning is they are untrustworthy, you tell them a secret and they will share it with everyone, they are quite the gossip! The other traditional meaning of this Page is they are a spy, spying on you. Doing what it takes to defend themselves. Becareful of telling them secrets you don't want to get out. His intention when communicating is to find out the truth but sometimes he is not mature enough to handle it properly. You have to look at the context in the reading of this card, look at the other cards. If they are negative, I would say becareful of their intentions. They are very much to benefit themselves, so if you tell them something, they will use it for gossip or against you later. Gossip often gives people power for a while but then it often comes back at them later, especially if no one trusts them any more! Their immaturity means they just say their ideas and thoughts, when really it needs to be carefully filtered or perhaps they shouldn't say anything at all. If the cards are more positive around this card, there are some positives. They are a fast learner and excellent student (they might for example be learning chess or logic games / puzzles and becoming good at them). They are also so enthusiastic and full of energy and have great ideas but they might be unrealistic or idealistic in the reality of them. Furthermore, they would be good to have around for brainstorming as they share their ideas but debates and discussions might be frustrating as they won't give others a chance to speak. They are prone to getting really defensive, that is one of their strongest personal intentions and can get really in your face at times. Their main intentions really is to find out the truth and to talk and communicate with people but often to serve themselves. You can have a nice conversation but don't tell them anything you don't want the world knowing and make sure you get a chance to say what you want to say! 😆
Jasmine Posted October 13, 2022 Author Posted October 13, 2022 That's an excellent analysis @DanielJUK I feel I understand Page of Swords a lot better now. Thanks.
