Fée Mirais est-elle une fée célèbre ?
Pas Fée des Maraïs.
Connaissez-vous quelqu'un?

Hello @MageRouge do you mind posting in English please? While we do have members who are not native English speaking, the language of this forum is English.

Thank you 😊

For the record (I have enough French that I was trying to find a reference):

Quote

Is Fée Mirais a famous fairy? Not Swamp Fairy. Does  anyone know?

It is referenced here in the French National Library in the 1858  book on the Grand Jeu, under Two of diamonds:

https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k1161950c/texteBrut

Quote

DEUX DE CARREAU. Conduite équivoque. Grand sujet.

which translates to:

Quote

TWO OF DIAMOND. Equivocal conduct. Great subject. 4 A child sitting on a bench. Fertility, childbirth. Right subject. Young girl in front of the fairy Mirais. Young girl proud to repair her fault. Left subject. Young girl before Eugéric, goddess of pregnancy. Young girl crying over an irreparable fault.

(The child is actually sitting on a goat, but...) I suspect this is where the OP found it - but I can't find anything else about it.

The question was about the Grand Jeu de Lenormand, so I wrote it in French.

Sincerest apologies🙏🏻
I will write in English

I already knew and read all about BnF's Grand Jeu de Lenormand.
However, I don't know the identity of Femi Rice, so I asked a question.
I want to know the myth of the motif, not the meaning of the iconography.
The only one who doesn't understand is Mirais.
Zeus is the child riding the goat.

But thanks for looking into it.
Thank you for your kindness🙏🏻

Oh goody - another of those days where quoting brings up another alphabet... It was Russian last time - @Little Fang - what DOES cause this ?

I can't find Mirais anywhere - except in the name of a holiday complex !

If somebody has their language set to another to translate the site, the quotes will show it. We've been through this 🙂

Granted, not sure why it's Japanese when French is involved. 🤷🏻

@MageRouge I've moved this thread to the Cartomancy section, this is the best place for Grand Jeu de Lenormand posts and any cartomancy system which isn't Petit Lenormand, thanks 🙂

Why? I thought I was using English or French. But yes, I am Japanese.

Thanks a lot!

Hey @MageRouge as Japanese is your main language I do understand you are using Japanese on your keyboard. The trouble is, that every time you quote someone, the quotes are in Japanese. You can avoid this, by changing the language to English.

Thank you!
