I just ordered four pre-owned tarot decks:

 

Fairy Lights Tarot
The Crystal Tarot
The Light and Shadow Tarot
The Llewellyn Tarot

 

I watched Flip-through videos for all of them, so I think I'll be pretty happy with them.  None of them had any cards that I disliked intensely.  But I did think that the Minor Arcana in the LLewellyn deck had far too many cards that mimic the RWS too closely.  Just because Pamela drew a person in a certain situation, posed in a certain way, and doing a certain action, why did Anne-Marie Ferguson feel she had to pose so many figures in exactly the same way?  Why does anyone, really?  I wish she had shown more imagination from her perspective.  I bought it anyway because her watercolor artwork is so gorgeous that I can forgive her.  And it was a good price.

 

I also ordered an oracle deck, but don't know what it is because it's a "mystery grab bag" item.  Another good price, so I took a chance!

Today I received this package of Terra Volatile. There hasn't been written much about this deck here on the forum, but it seems to have a huge following worldwide, and seems interesting.

Deck: Terra Volatile

Deck: The Rider Tarot Deck, 1909 RWS Tarot - The Sawyer Redux Edition, and Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot Deck

This Thoth deck is a second-hand deck. Box missing, otherwise good condition. Based on the printer's key and ISBN, this is the 3rd printing of this specific edition revision, published March 1, 1991, which is consistent with the seller's statement that the deck was purchased in San Francisco in the late 1990s.

The Deleted World Tarot: I didn't know about this deck, but suddenly I see it everywhere in the "Deck to Check" areas here at TT&M. So thanks for your contribution there, @Rose Lalonde. Eventually I couldn't resist ordering, this deck was to good to be forgotten, although shipping and import costs to my country cost more than the deck itself 😅😭

As for The Whisper of Stars and Garden Tarot, I have no idea why I ordered this one. The style is quite far from what I like, but I probably saw a YT video and was fascinated for a moment, probably mostly because there are very few decks left. But sometimes it's a bit nice to try to expand your own horizons I think.

Tarot of the Sweet Twilight is a bit of a guilty pleasure. Actually far from what I like, but still there is something fascinating about this deck. So I ordered it while it is still available.

@KaiNO if it's not to late to hopefully save a little money, the Tarot of the Origins has been reprinted recently as the Primordial Tarot.

It was one of my first two decks (the other was majors only) and it's its own system, so for a long time, I just read intuitively with that deck. It can be brutal, but I was looking for something that counts death as a daily part of life right after my mother died.

I also just go the Sawyer redux for a RWS with astrology on the cards, even though it's not in your face about it.

I'd be interested to see how you go reading with the Deleted World. I like it, but reading has been a bit more difficult than with some of my go to decks. Maybe that's an unfair comparison to make since this one is brand new to me. 😅

I ordered a copy of the Black Queer Tarot. It’ll be here in a few days. I was wondering if there was a pdf guidebook going off one youtuber’s confusion about that but there isn’t. I was thinking of trying to contact the artist but they don’t seem to be as active online these days. But maybe I’ll try.

I’ve been curious about the Terra Volatile for a while now. Also lately the Tarot of Mystical Moments. But this deck purchase was kinda impulsive and I’m wanting to focus on the decks I have. I just saw there were only four copies left in this etsy shop and it’s oop everywhere else so I jumped on it. Plus I found out by contacting the creator that the Shrine of the Black Medusa deck is retired. So I thought I’d jump on this other queer black collaged deck while I had the chance. Not usually a big fan of most photo collage decks but I think it’ll be ok. (thinking it’d be cool to have a deck showing real black queer bodies to reflect back on me)

On a lighter note, thanks for the tip! I wasn't aware that there was a new version. But anyway, the old version that's already on its way to me in the mail is unopened, so I will keep it unopened. I'm getting more and more into OOP decks. I guess I'm starting to become a small collector.

I actually started picking out decks a few months ago to downsize due to lack of space. But it felt painful, so I ended up buying more cabinet space instead which I managed to squeeze in. So these decks were kept and with more storage space I am now in the midst of a proper deck buying spree 😆

On a whim, picked up the Amber Moon tarot deck. Seems interesting so far, but waiting for it to grab me.

I finally realised that The Fairy Tale Tarot deck by Lisa Hunt is the same one Amazon has displayed for sale. I didn't realise that the Little Red Riding Hood (Innocence/The Fool) card is NOT the picture apparently depicted on the box this time. Anyway, I've been hoping to get this deck for a long time, so I ordered it. Should be here the middle of August sometime.

I just know I'll love this deck, as I am an enthusiastic student of fairy/folk tales from around the world, and have a library of books that are collected tales, etc. It will also be great to use this deck in any future ISG group readings I participate in on the forum. I suspect this deck will read extremely well using 'intuition only.' The picture I've seen of the shoemaker's elves working under a full moon at night (The Ace of Pentacles) is just a glimpse of the potential this deck has, in terms of intuitive understanding.

Aha. While I'm waiting for the Fairy Tale Tarot, I also ordered another one ...a totally different sort of deck from those I am usually attracted to. It's the Ferenc Pinter Tarot. I was looking at the flip-through as if I was using the deck for the ISG (Intuitive) reading circle, and realised there is a LOT to work with here. I'm especially intrigued by the strange Court Cards. This will be fun.

Decks received over the last few days:

I am really happy with the Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg deck. It is second-hand, but in great condition. It is printed in Belgium, which means it is a first edition. So for 20 euros, it was a great buy 😊

But I actually posted this mostly to give a heads-up that the early-bird rewards for The Jane Austen Tarot deck (+ book) on Kickstarter are almost gone. So if you are interested in this deck, you need to hurry. This deck could be a great reason to (re)read the books or watch the TV-series this winter.

I just received the Marseille Tarot by Italian artist Virginia Mori. Love her work. The publisher was meh - typo on "Strenght", one minor has a pink background while all the rest are beige, and the lwb's ink smeared. (Not an error, but the stock is glossy, and I'd prefer matte for this)

Still, I love it and am glad I got it. It was the limited ed. with a signed print of the Papess at stay-hop shop that Mori's site linked to. #93 of 100 so presumably not many left, but there are plenty of the non-limited. Shipping surprisingly fast with the cheapest option from Italy.

From the second pic, you can tell I'll be bothering @DanielJUK with yet another deck library image. 😅 He's so good to us to maintain that as a volunteer. 🙌

Congrats on the new Marseille deck, it looks really beautiful and it's fun to own limited edition decks.

I haven't gotten as far as Marseille interpretations yet on my Tarot journey. That will have to wait for later.
