Tom Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 (edited) Native American Tarot Deck (Religion and Spirituality) https://a.co/d/1k6W4YY I'm getting his deck. I had it in the 80s and it's part of me recovering decks I'd mistakenly given up. The style is a dated but I still really like it. Edited February 9, 2024 by Tom
Scandinavianhermit Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 In 1963, a book by an author known as Wenzell Brown was published. Whether this is a pseudonym or his actual name is more than I know. The title of this book is How to tell fortunes with cards (2nd edition 1971). It was translated into Swedish in 1972 with an additional preface by a Swedish assistant professor (senior lecturer) in folklore studies, and, during my childhood, it was available at our local public library. I've used his particular choice of 15 card spread since the 1980s, but, at the time, I was unable to buy a copy for myself. I found a vintage copy at a second-hand bookshop very recently. Mr. Brown's approach to cartomancy is to warn clients against vice and encourage virtue and personal growth. The middle 3 card row illustrate the present situation. The lower 3 card row to the left illustrate the influence of past events on the present. The lower 3 card row to the right illustrate exterior present influences. The higher 3 card row to the right illustrate a probable future, and the higher 3 card row to the left illustrate the supposed future, if the client decide to actively work for a better outcome. Mr. Brown is less deterministic than some other writers in the genre. I see this as a feature, but other readers' mileage may vary. There are bits and bobs of alleged historical information scattered through the book, and these details, though only far and few between, sounds very dated: Ancient Egypt and legends about the Roma people pops up in an embarrassing way (Gebelin quoted without reference), but, to Mr. Brown's defence, he probably formed his opinions about the matter quite some time before 1963, so it is easier to forgive him, than someone who repeat such claims after the publication of Sir Michael Dummet's and Sylvia Mann's The Game of Tarot (1980) and after the proliferation of Internet.
Sunshyne Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 I recently got a deck of inner child cards returned to me from storage- they’re beautiful!
RunningWild Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 I had a nice surprise in the mail today. The Kickstarter project Joker Tarot arrived. LS hadn’t even bothered to send me a shipping notification. The last message I received just said they finally had them in stock and would start shipping on Feb. 4th. I don’t mind, this was a good day to get a surprise like that.
Tom Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 I'm still expecting the Prismatic Tarot Deck 7th release. I already have the Oracle and it's beautiful. The official scenes they have made with the impressionist style art is gorgeous.

gregory Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 Inner Child ! https://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/inner-child/
Nemia Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 I really like the Inner Child cards, in spite of some less successful cards - but you have them in every deck. I especially like the borders and the majors. It's a dream-like deck. When my youngest daughter was a child, she loved playing with this deck on our bed. It was her special treat. She especially loved the World card. It's one of the most moving World cards I know. The Earth Child. Simply perfect. I had an update from M.J. Cullinane. My Unfinished Business Tarot and the Journal are on their way! It's a pity that I'll get to the place where it's sent to only in April but I'm sure the journal will be a beautiful addition to my everyday tarot life anyway, and also after 2024. I love her work, the Förhäxa speaks very strongly to me. Something timeless about it. I'm not usually into spooky decks but this one has something about it... it sparks my imagination.

So this Tarot deck comes with its own Journal? I checked out her website and I could not find a stand alone journal. One of the other decks -- I think the Crow Tarot, had an accompanying journal. Enjoy!
Tom Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 (edited) @Scarlett I really want to get my hands on that one too. I'm going to pick it up next month. I already feel a bond with this deck that I can't describe. I'm excited about doing readings with it. Edited February 20, 2024 by Tom
legendaryelement Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 I received my pre-ordered Neopets The Official Tarot Deck - Faerie Edition yesterday. Earlier than expected. The cards are large & the cardstock is very thick, but I adore the art and the entries in the guidebook give lore/story tidbits from the game. As a long-time fan, this is quite welcome! https://www.neomerch.com/item.php?id=3595 It looks like the first deck has the same card illustrations on the fronts; but the Faerie edition does not have foil accents. The guidebook is paperback. https://www.neomerch.com/item.php?id=3101
FindYourSovereignty Posted March 2, 2024 Posted March 2, 2024 I received postal notification today that my Winnie the Pooh tarot is out-for-delivery. 😍 My favorite book growing up. I still have my childhood paperback copy with yellowed, curled up pages. ❤️
Misterei Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 EEE! Gamecrafers just sent the notification email that Arlecchino's Augmented Arcana is on the way. I think I'm going to give away a Lo Scarabeo deck when it comes ... not sure yet. I've got my strict 1 in 1 out rule ... so we shall see. Meanwhile I'm staring at the post box ... waiting.

Wyrdkiss Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 I found a copy of Le Tarot Arthurien from France that I couldn't resist. Will take a few weeks to arrive.

DanielJUK Posted March 16, 2024 Author Posted March 16, 2024 I think some etsy and youtube listings don't publicly appear in searches if you are not in the country they sell to! I have searched some U.S listings and can't see the product. Will check out the store @gregory. There are plans to have a thread of sales and discounts, if people spot shops doing them. We are just working out how to word it carefully 🙂 .
