Yes indeed @Akhilleus, it’s a reworking of the Thoth. I love that deck but I haven’t had a chance to work with it solidly yet and sometimes it still feels like I’m pushing my way through a thicket when I’m reading with it, it’s just so complex and multilayered. The Marea Tarot retains the atmosphere of the Thoth but somehow feels more… accessible? And it’s so beautiful!

Have a slew of sealed OOP Lo Scarabeo decks that I will be getting my hands on next week. I didn't know that they have already discontinued their silver Mantegna! I mean, AFAIK they haven't dropped a metallic Atanassov deck before. May have to get a hold of the others before they go *poof* too.

@thornapple I initially thought the Philosopher's Tarot a bit gimmicky, but now that you've shown a few cards I'm mighty curious about the creator's choices. Some made me scratch my head, but that may be my own fault since my knowledge of their ideologies are admittedly not that deep. I guess I'm just curious about the reasoning that went behind them.

If you'd like, I can share some of the explanations behind the cards from the guidebook. When I get back from my trip, though. Which ones are you most curious about?

Thank you so much for the offer, but i already checked out my friend's copy.

I have to say though, I thought that Karl Marx as The Hierophant was unbelievably counter-intuitive. The creator's explanation made some sort of sense, but I'm still not thoroughly convinced. I'd have thought Aquinas a far better fit.

Anyways, I shan't perorate anymore on a deck I don't own since my lack of more extensive context might end up with me putting my foot in my mouth heh.

Well the postman here in Indonesia is not very reliable...  I am dependent upon visiting friends coming to Bali to bring decks to me.  BTW, when are YOU coming to Bali?  Let me know.  Bring me something and I shall gladly get you a nice smoothie or coconut water and do a reading for you!

So my girlfriend come to Bali from Eugene OR within the week.  Then I shall have:  Benebell Wen's 64-card I Ching oracle deck; Schimiltei Rainbow Tarot (which I learned of here on the Tarot Forum; the Inner Child Tarot by Isha and Mark Lerner; and Tarot of the Four Elements by Isha Lerner and Amy Ericksen.

I am super excited.  I've been very drawn to the Tarot of the Four Elements for years.  It's hard to justify the purchase as what I really need in my collection are more easily accessible RWS clones for when I work with groups and everyone gets their own deck to play with.  I love the art, though.  In my Tarot Universe, aesthetics trumps all.  I've also been on the fence about the Inner Child Tarot.  I think that it will be useful for when I do Inner Child work.  I have come to associate the 6 of Cups with the theme of Inner Child work.  So now, when a 6 of Cups card comes up in a reading, it will be a sign for me to do a 1-Card reading from the Inner Child Tarot deck, too.

The Schimiltei deck is just drop dead gorgeous.  And whenever I have time, I do intend to immerse myself more in the I-Ching using Benebell's new I-Ching book as a guide.

After a welter of dark/gothic decks, I aimed for some smexy metallic Tarots. Beauty and brains, both of them.

I enjoyed the Pagan Otherworlds Tarot and the blue Pagan playing cards very much, so I recently bought the Materia Prima. It really is perfect, since my STEM-centric high school is holding a reunion for my batch later this year. If I do decide to bring some material to shock those nerdy dorks (which includes me, sadly 😓), the tantalizing combination of a scientific theme and classic gorgeousness that this deck offers might make it immune to heckling heh.

And I finally laid my hands on a silver Mantegna! Took some bit of negotiating, but I was simply never letting go of an OOP Atanassov that easily. This beauty came brand new and sealed, so I'm over the moon with excitement.

I also ordered the Supra Oracle and a few other exciting decks for good measure. Some of them will be coming from overseas, so it might take a month or so before I get them.

... tell tell.  Always looking for more exciting decks.

Welp, excitement is a terribly subjective thing, so the stuff that fill me with ardor might inspire others with nothing more than a ho-hum @Natural Mystic Guide

But yeah, I'm very enthused with a particular recent find. A first edition Fairytale Tarot deck and book set by Mahony and Ukolov, brand new and perfect in every single way. Sealed too! I fell hard for the Bohemian Gothic, so I guess Imma get my hands on more of dem Baba Press decks.

Lord knows how long I pined for a Tarot of the Saints set by Place, and now it's within my reach. The box is flawed and the book has some minor damage, but at least it's complete and very much readable. How will I embark on a deep dive if it isn't? But the thing is - the deck itself is sealed and flawless. I saw its pics and I was giddy with joy. Absolutely breathtaking!

For a deck of more recent vintage, well, I've heard of Ana Cortez's Playing Card Oracles. But while its system stirred my curiosity, it never really excited me. Only recently did I hear of its darker, more seductive sister, and whew, I don't think I've ever encountered anything like the Doors of Somlipith. Esoteric cartomancy with a delectably portentous tang. Can't wait to wade into its stories!

I just hope the video reviews do them justice. I think the pics the sellers provided are accurate tho. They are highly reputable anyways.

There's still more, but I'll get to them once they arrive. In the meantime, Imma enjoy my recent finds.

I just got this deck, simply called Vintage Tarot Cards from Esty’s.  I love it, though it is a little annoying that the Majors aren’t numbered. They resemble 18th century French people.  I really love the esthetics of this deck.  They don’t actually have the swords, cups, pents, and wands incorporated into the image on the card, but the scenes definitely are RWS based.  I think this would be a good reading deck.

I just got my Austin Osman Spare  I rather didn't need the book, as I had already bought it when it first came out, but it's great to have the deck.

Thanks for sharing the pix. I saw this deck whilst shopping Lenormands on Etsy [I've got 2-3 coming in the mail now]. It's quite pretty and looks like it would be close enough to RWS to read easily.

That deck is just dripping magick. It seems like a visual grimoire. Spare was a strange egg ... but I do appreciate his artwork and the fact that they revived it.

You are telling me and then some ! I already knew what I was up against when I got the book - but wow !

New reading table-top arrived from Morocco.

YAY! I can do my normal tarot style again [multiple decks of all sizes] and I can do a GT with regular Lenormands.

Best thing--it's super light--when I'm done I can put it away even with arthritis hands. SO HAPPY!

Thanks. I donated my old super-large tray table which was antique and worth a bomb [casualty of moving house] and then felt miserable and cramped reading on my 24" traytable. This one cost a bomb even after haggling with the fellow ... but it's perfect for this house and my hands.

Picked up a Terra Volatile deck and a separate Expansion set from the post office. Bought from the previous owner, so need to find out what edition it is. Still need to buy the book.

The deck is interesting, I'm particularly impressed with the alternate Alchemist card - with Alejandro Jodorowski from his film The Holy Mountain.
But I doubt the fifth suit of Aethers - turns everything into an oracle.

I have a deck that I like -- 'The Fifth Tarot' which has a fifth suit.  I find that it doesn't really work with the way that I read (using my Tarot Netivot system).  So I have rubber banded that suit and usually simply do not use it.  I hope that you enjoy playing with your new deck!

My latest:

"Earthly Souls & Spirits Moon Oracle" by Terri Foss.

"The Transparent Tarot" by Emily Carding.

The Supra Oracle finally arrived. With it, I guess I finally fulfilled my Uusi wishlist. Aside from the five that I have, their other decks don't leave me terribly enthused.

Also, these gruesome threesome finally landed. I think I'll treat them more as oracular cards than anything cartomantic.

The Astrological Hodges Playing Cards with its classic illustrations of constellations can partner with my celestial decks. I have always been curious about transformation cards, and I think the Pantheon deck from the Cotta's Almanac series will be a great place to start. And the Cartomancer Archetypal Playing Cards! I dunno if its system adheres to any of the traditional ones, but I've had my eyes on it for quite some time.

I just bought the original Somnia Tarot. It should arrive here this week. Aside from that, there are quite a few more decks a-coming.

EEE! I think @gregory recently got this deck, too. It's quite the grimoire!

I did. It is - Quite Something.

Forgot to mention I got my Austin Osman Spare tarot as well. Absolutely love the Rapoza fortune telling book. Lots of playing card methods to try out! 😁

Yes - that was a lovely surprise.
