I had to give Bood Depository a last good order, I loved that place so much and bought lots of decks there. So this was my birthday haul: Mythologia Fennica and Förhäxa Serpent and Peacock and Seed & Sickle Guardians of the Night and Woodland Wardens Pastoral Tarot Very interesting: the Guardians of the Night Fool and the Pastoral Devil have a lot in common. I can't wait to deep-dive into my new decks. Sounds like a great birthday celebration, @Nemia. I was sad about Book Depository closing and I missed the last day to order. I am thinking that was probably a good thing for me. Do you have a favorite of the decks?
Nemia Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 I didn't have time to dig in deeper but I'm totally infatuated with the Förhäxa. There is something about this world that seems so familiar to me, as if I had dreamt it. I don't need the book - I understand the scenes and know the characters. The last time that happened to me with a deck was with the New Liminal, a deck I love and enjoy in readings. I did one reading with the Förhäxa and it was spot on, so evocative. The Pastoral is wonderful but some cards are a bit wonky. I love her work with watercolours when it's a bit more free and in some of the cards, especially the human figures, she controls it a bit too much. I admire her technique but artistically, I prefer the Ghosts and Spirits and Shapeshifter. However, the atmosphere of that deck is beautiful, a storybook of a Norman Rockwell America. And some cards are pure genius - the Devil, the Hierophant. And the Emperor is one of the best I have seen. I'll need more time to work with the others. I'm a bit in deck overwhelm 🙂 but since I guess I'll take a break with deck buying for a while, I'll catch up with all my new friends!
FindYourSovereignty Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 @Nemia, thank you for sharing. The Pastoral tarot catches my eye, but I haven’t taken the leap for it. What a nice connection with Förhäxa. I hadn’t seen this deck previously, but what a lovely deck. I have her Urban Crow Oracle and love it. Happy bonding with your new friends.
FindYourSovereignty Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Received notification that my second edition The Twilight of the Gods deck will arrive Friday, but upon checking the tracking # it has been moved up to tomorrow. 🙂
Natural Mystic Guide Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 One thing that living in Bali teaches one is patience. Waiting, waiting, and waiting... and wait some more. Regarding what the postman is bringing me... I have 5 decks that have already arrived and are just sitting at different place in the U.S. awaiting a 'mule' who can carry them here to me in Bali. My husband is traveling to the U.S. now and in 9 days I shall have in hand: The Aura Soma deck; The Chrysalis Tarot; the Eastern Ink Tarot, Collector's edition. In August I shall hopefully receive my Spirit Keepers Tarot Revelation Edition 2nd printing; the Mary-El Tarot; and The Dark Goddess Tarot. I have been waiting over half of a year for some of these.

I would be interested in hearing how you like this after you work with it for a while. I have the original Shining Tribe Tarot. I studied it daily for more than a year and still find it fairly impenetrable. I do use it. Particularly I like it for Dream Play. Did you have the original, as well... or is this all new for you?

Did you have the original, as well... or is this all new for you? I was a fan of Rachel Pollack's tarot books, not so much her tarot deck. The deck, after reading some of the book that came with it, seems to be very spirituality oriented. I don't use tarot for spiritual development. I haven't been at tarot as long as some but about 15 yrs. So I guess what I'm getting at is that I don't know how I'll integrate the deck into my readings at this point. Whereas I use Tarot almost exclusively for supporting others in their spiritual development -- whether that is why they think they are coming to me or not. I read a lot on other people's Tarot websites. I think that 'spiritual development' is a minority orientation. Often it is not even included.

Now that your deck has arrived, how do you like it? I will be ordering mine tomorrow and can't wait. The deck is no longer in print and prices are going up fast so I want to get it asap. I haven't read cards for awhile (I've been playing ttrpg games) and am getting excited to do some card reading again and found your post.
Nemia Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 So far, I like Woodland Wardens very much, it's beautiful, thought-provoking and has a strong atmosphere. However, I'm not really self confident reading with oracle cards, except for drawing one card. I feel that this is the deck that can bring the change for me. I drew one card now, asking the deck while shuffling: how can I work with you?, and the deck answered: with the Rooster and Sunflower: Communication. And also: self confidence. A great deck, and I'm so happy I have it.
Eno Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 The postman brought my Feldman Sisters Tarot today. As a pleasant surprise it came with a lot of extra stuff like a wooden box, a bag and a cloth that I hadn't noticed when I backed it on kickstarter.
Teemu Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 The german version of the Wildwood Tarot is on the way now. It appeared 2nd hand on ebay, and since it is OOP and the new edition not in sight, I took the opportunity.

That looks amazing! 3 minutes ago, Teemu said: The german version of the Wildwood Tarot is on the way now. I haven’t started working with this deck yet. Glad you could find the one you wanted. I have the final edition of the Lonely Dreamer Tarot coming and I received a few books yesterday: the Pictorial Tarot, Queen Up!, and The Intuitive Arts on Family.
gregory Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 That;s great news - I have one coming from them - with tracking - and for 10 days it has shown it has been processed in Ukraine - and Royal Mail says "there is no tracking for this service...."

I assume with them being bombed by Russia occassionally, it maybe that some packages become collateral damage...
gregory Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Royal Mail still deny all knowledge, but the Ukraine site says it is in the UK....
Bodhiseed Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 An update from Claire Mack on the Rainshadow Tarot: Great news - the decks have arrived in port and it's only a matter of weeks before I'll be able to start sending out the first rewards! I'm excited to be able to get the decks to you much sooner than anticipated! As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions. It's been a while since I backed a Kickstarter deck; I'm looking forward to receiving this one!
Teemu Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Today in the mail: - The Power Animal Tarot. It consists of pixelated animal photos with designations on four languages: English, German, French, and Spanish. Like I said elsewhere, it is so awful that it is funny, perhaps for a carnival or halloween spread. On the other hand, the animals are quite well chosen for each card. Pentacles are unguents and rodents (mainly), cups are fishes, swords are predators (mammals except for a crocodile), wands are birds. The fool is a fox, death a vulture, to name a few. - The Wildwood Tarot (German edition). It seems to be a good translation.
rylla Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 I,ve got the Ors et Obres oracle. I was drawn by its interesting and weird cards, as I usually don't buy oracle cards and I'm not into astrology either. This deck seemed to me like an astrological one. But it is much, much deeper, I really enjoy it. Going through the book which is in French. It's a little hassle but it worth it if you have any French basic knowledge. Could not find an English version. I've also got the Golden black cat tarot. It's nice but I'd appreciate much more if the cats' figures would be a little bigger.
Libra 58 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 My latest: "Gothic Oracle" by Anne Stokes. "Änglarnas orakel" (Oracle of the Angels) by Mario Duguay. "The Moon Oracle" by Caroline Smith and John Astrop. "Necronomicon" by Anne Stokes and Donald Tyson.
RunningWild Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 I ordered the Spreadcrafter's Oracle (all three decks). Thanks @Rodney I've really enjoyed reading your posts using it. Also, I've backed a deck on Kickstarter. So thanks @DanielJUK. And now I can't buy anything else for a really long time.😁

I really need to put myself on deck buying restriction. Somehow I don't think that's going to happen though...
24seasons Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 I'm still pretty new to tarot so I'm waiting on my first deck right now, the dark purple Mystical Universe Tarot! I only ordered it a couple days ago so it won't be here for a week or two but I'm so excited to be able to have a physical deck in my hands
rylla Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 I've got the Shimmering Veil tarot. Quite happy with it.
Rachelcat Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 It's been a long time since I've posted here, so I'm sure this won't be a comprehensive list! But let's see: I backed the Feel Your Chakras Oracle on Kickstarter. I've been looking for a really usable chakra deck, and this might be it! I recently got a Chakra Cards deck from an overpriced crystal store in a touristy area. The deck is basically a book about chakras on cards. But it does have a lot of affirmation cards for each chakra, so I might be able to use it after all. I got the Cantigee Oracle in a tarot society deck trade. I do like a round deck, but the watercolor art might cross the line from strange to creepy for me. We'll see. I received the pre-ordered Llewellyn Tarot of the Vampires. Not as wonderful as I wanted, but it might be a keeper after all. I found my dragon deck! US Games' Field Guide to Garden Dragons. They're cute fruit- and veg-based dragons: Cherry Dragon, Broccoli Dragon, Eggplant Dragon, etc. Did I say cute??!! And I used the LlewellynCon coupon to order a bunch of (4) Lo Scarabeo classic book illustrator-based decks: Edmund Dulac Tarot Tarot of Tales and Legends (Henry Justice Ford) Tarot of the Thousand and One Nights (Leon Carre) (a repurchase) Fairy Oracle (Arthur Rackham) I already have the LS Harmonious Tarot (Walter Crane and Ernest Fitzpatrick), John Bauer Tarot, and Rackham Tarot, along with the Duck Soup Arthur Rackham Oracle. (I had but gave away the Schiffer Ring Cycle Tarot, made with Rackham's illustrations of the Wagner operas. Not sure I want that one back, but maybe for completionism . . . ) Looks like I got a little too collect-y, but I'm just going to enjoy them!
