Libra 58 Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 The latest: "Tarot of the Enchanted garden" by Rossana Pala. "Yuletide Tarot" by Kristoffer Hughes and Erin O´Leary Brown.
akiva Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 I forgot I ordered (and just received as a nice surprise) "Les Cartes et Les Tarots Méthode des Maîtres de la Cartomancie" by Thylbus. Which is a 1950s book on French cartomancy (if that wasn't obvious 😅). It contains meanings and methods for the piquet deck (32), the full playing card deck and also for tarot.

Sounds like a great book! And it kinda makes me wish that I could read french 😄

A quick untranslated glance at the tarot minor meanings and I can already tell they're Ettiella based. Though that is pretty common for the minors in french literature. 😁 What's most interesting about this book is the fact it has meanings for the full 52 playing card deck. It's not often you see that in older french cartomancy books as they seem to favour the piquet deck.

Nemia Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 I took a little break from deck buying... but since I earned some money with tarot, I followed my old rule: I spend nothing but tarot money on tarot. I have had my eyes for a while on the Painted Tarot. It's oop on Etsy BUT I found it in a Dutch online shop. And I'm very happy and excited about it. I'll have it delivered to my European address where I'll spend Christmas. So it's a Christmas present to myself 🙂
Niobium Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 My Terra Volatile Tarot book came today and oh my word, it's GORGEOUS. Really a steal for the price--big illustrations, amazing page stock, hardbound. Looking forward to it. My Cordein Tarot is en route, and I just received my Divine Deco and Bleeding Heart Tarots. I decided not to back Divine Deco but caved and bought it online. It's a simple RWS style deck with a lovely art style, so, why not. (Why not indeed...) Bleeding Heart is a very interesting, odd deck with a fascinating art style. I watched the artist make it on IG but I lost track of them a few months ago, so was happy to see it finished and printed.

Raggydoll Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 I’m expecting two Oracle decks that are in the same series as the White Hare Wisdom cards. I really enjoy this style, and it’s perfect for autumn/winter. And even though the artwork is cutesy and whimsical, it provides meaningful readings that are very to the point. its this one https://www.matlockthehare.com/the-majick-cottage and this one https://www.matlockthehare.com/arboridium

I don't really do oracle cards much, but I'm sorely tempted. The imagery is just the right side of 'cutesy' ...I find a lot of food for thought, looking at these images. Love the Cornerstone in the majick cottage one....

Love the Cornerstone in the majick cottage one.... I’m not into cutesy or whimsy decks in general, but this creator is different. She adds so many layers of magic and wisdom in the cards that to me, they work really well for readings on all sorts of topics. However, I do think they’re better for advice/guidance than predictive style readings. And they are brilliant for self care readings. I’ll be sure to feature these decks when they arrive and share my thoughts on them!
DanielJUK Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 @Nemia I like the Painted Tarot. The artist is from Scotland and has a degree in fine art. She actually does gallery shows (and when the deck came out, then displayed the cards in a Scottish gallery for a while as her work, they are all full-size paintings). She always has it on her own website and that NL shop. Etsy seems to have batches where it sells out and then comes back, I think it's just popular 🙂 I discovered it from Sulis who wouldn't stop using it / raving about it on her tarot instagram. It's quite fine art I think in style and they are all portraits. It began as a Kickstarter originally. You'll enjoy it as your Christmas present 🙂 Totally love that Divine Deco deck! I think though buying it from the U.S would be quite expensive to here, so have to hope it becomes mass-market one day 🙂
Nemia Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 @DanielJUK This sounds good! I have wanted the Painted Tarot for YEARS and I also think that the artist is very good. She has a style of her own. I'm really curious. I think art decks are the most important sub-collection for me. Somebody mentioned the Terra Volatile - I have it, with all the extra cards, and love looking at it. I don't read with it though. I should probably simply start!
rylla Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Got the Lilifer. I like it much more than anticipated.

akiva Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 My first oracle has deck has arrived: Oracle of The Radiant Sun. The artwork is stunning and very evocative. 😍 The astrology behind the deck is a tad modern for my tastes. But it seems like it will read well just by going off of the images and keywords, so it shouldn't be an issue, at least until I delve into some older astrology texts. Seriously though... the artwork 😯 I wish more decks looked like this!

Tarot of the Holy Light also has quite a densely packed look; I have the iPad app but haven’t used it much as yet.

FindYourSovereignty Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I have Tarot of the Holy Light, but haven’t gotten into quite as much as I thought I would. It doesn’t align with other books or decks decan assignments for cards and threw me off to what I had already been doing. 😏 I received an email that my Rustic Tarot deck is on its way to me in the US from Australia. 😊
