I even like the parfum, (which I did not expected to do). With this deck my wish list is completed!!! So my wish list was completed for a whole week! I saw the The Rainbow Tarot Deck A Tarot Deck Based on Paper Quilling! and I really liked it and wished to buy it. Luckily it is available on etsy and I ordered it. I can't wait to see it!
gregory Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 And my Habetrot - just notified of the tracking - well, kinda - it has been "leaving originating country" for 6 days now.... What do they get up to in Swiss Land ?
Eugenie Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 (edited) I have ordered Russian Tarot Lubok by Eugene Vinitski. I know I promised to myself not to order anything for the time being, but it is a beautiful deck, let it be. I am irritated by the key words in Russian but I can live with them. I wanted a Slavic deck but I could not find a Ukrainian one or even an East European one to like. Maybe later... Edited November 16, 2023 by Eugenie

Watching the flipthru now. I held off on the one for SO LONG but I had to cave. it's a really nice little RWS deck, and from an Indie publisher so I liked supporting them. @Eugenie !!! Where did you find a copy to order? I've been dying for this deck for so long but can never find one. Edited November 16, 2023 by Niobium

A little difficult to recognize the cards ... more like a distant relative of RWS than a clone. I read it like I would read a pip deck ... but it gave me good readings right from the box.

I like Golden Wheel which I got in US. It's one of my favorite decks. Definitely has a slavic theme. No keywords in any language and lovely hand painted watercolors.

Since I live in Uzbekistan and this is a part of former Soviet Union, we have close connections to Russia. I still have Russian friends, asked them to buy the deck for me and send it here. Ridiculously, Russian market is choking full of fakes, you cannot imagine it. I tried to buy the same deck here. The guy looked like he was doing a legitimate business but it turned out he only sold fakes. So it was a bit of a quest. My Russian friends had to look for an official distributor, fortunately they found them, and ordered a deck, and it will only arrive in about a month. Let's wait and take a look at it...
Eugenie Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 (edited) @Misterei, @gregory, thank you for your suggestions! Beautiful decks, both of them. I have been looking at them for a while. The Slavic Legends is stunning! I, however, wanted something different; either somewhat vague, with more muted colors and darker, or a naive art based deck. If you can think of more Slavic decks, please let me know! I started a thread to collect opinions on those. Edited November 17, 2023 by Eugenie

It's an adorable little deck from Etsy, simply called the Slavic Tarot Deck: https://www.etsy.com/listing/717038425/slavic-tarot-deck
Eugenie Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 @Niobium, thank you very much! It is a lovely deck, will look into it.
Niobium Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 So, as to my more recent gets: a favorite artist of mine released a second tarot deck, the Tarot of the Red Raven, which came the other day, and I also received my Solara Occulto Meliora and my second edition of the LotR Tarot by Fickes, which now comes with a booklet and rigid box. The Solara deck is exquisite, so much so that I'm going to be worried about damaging it. Ugh!! I love how nice it is but maybe I'll stick to using my second edition. The Red Raven is going to be one of those decks I don't use a whole lot, but is a lot of fun to play with. It might be good for writing and art prompting, it's so out there. And of course I love the Fickes LotR deck, so much so I made my own box for my first edition. I love this new box they're now including, though, and didn't want to pass it up.
Eugenie Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 @Niobium, congratulations on receiving these beautiful decks! I am especially thrilled with the Solara, yes, it is exquisite!

They did write this on a card but so glad I found it, I have read about people accidentally recycling / trashing their parcels 🤣 I had a corker of an experience a couple of years ago, which I witnessed from start to finish. I happened to be sitting at my front window when the courier arrived. They didn't bother to come up the drive to the door at all, but left the parcel in the recycle bin instead ...which was out at the kerb awaiting collection!!! And no, I've never authorised anybody to put a delivery in any bin in the first place. Most of the couriers are excellent, and I try to be tolerant, as they are under extreme pressure, don't get paid all that well, and now with all the 'tracking' etc, their jobs have become quite complicated, compared to, say, 10 years ago. But somebody who doesn't bother to attempt to deliver at all? That's a bit much.

EEK!!!! I’m so glad you were there to catch it before it went on an adventure. One has to wonder what goes through people’s heads sometimes…….
MarineMurine Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 I went a bit mad yesterday, between my local (well, semi-local; I’m very rural, but it IS the closest) metaphysical shop and a couple of indie sites. Assessing my deck collection after having boxed it up for years was eye-opening. I saw gaps! Gaps everywhere!! I will however be good and pace myself. ……a little. Later. Speaking seriously, it is hard, especially with indie decks, not knowing if they’ll all of a sudden go POOF off the market, never to be seen again for under a few hundred fins. I was lucky that one indie deck in particular was still available, as I’d seen it a couple of years ago and thought "ooOoo" but wasn’t in a good place to make the purchase then. Happily it is now winging its way to me. The damage: Grand Tableau Lenormand (I love Lenormand and have had the Celtic for a donkey’s years but NEVER read with it……I needed a more traditional one methinks, and why I gave up all my other Lenormands I will never be able to understand) Botanica Tarot (this was the one I saw a few years ago) The Radiant Tarot (darn Benebell and her excellent review) The Hermetic Tarot (used to have it, gave it up … wailed, bought it again) Pierre Madenié 1709 (I may replace my Jacques Vieville with this because let’s face it, the Vieville isn’t the comeliest belle at the ball, and I do really only need ONE historical TdM reproduction in my collection) New Orleans Voodoo (see: Hermetic) Tarot of the Divine (wasn’t planning on it but it was on SALE and, well, it sure is pretty isn’t it) Minchiate Al Cigno (suddenly needed a Minchiate, as you do) My poor postlady.
Wyrdkiss Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 My Bohemian Gothic reprint is en route. I'm pretty stoked.
gregory Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Kickstarter decks will be - but I have lost track of which are due - it gets very annoying.
Libra 58 Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 "The Enchanted Förhäxa Tarot" by MJ Cullinane. "The Siren´s Song" by C. Paris, T. Savory and T. Hardt.
Natural Mystic Guide Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 I have a friend willing to 'mule' some decks to me here in Bali. She will arrive in January: 1. I've ordered another hand painted deck by Carol Herzer: The Illuminated Tarot with original colors strong fluorescent colors added and glitter! 2. I've ordered the 'Ark Animal Tarot and Oracle decks' by Bernadette King 3. I've ordered the 'Moondust Tarot' by Florence Saul. The Illuminated Tarot is my all time favorite deck. I use it constantly. I love everything that Bernadette King does. Her work with both Tarot and animals is fantastic -- I have her 'Wisdom of the Wild Ones -- the Encyclopedia of Animal Spirit Guides'. It is truly encyclopedic and excellent. So I'm looking forward to this combo. I've loved viewing the Moondust Tarot online and have been anxious for a physical printed version to come out -- now it has. I love the lavender and gold color scheme and the dreaminess of the deck -- very pretty. BTW, when are you coming to Bali? I'll give you a complimentary reading and some great snacks! Surely you have room in your suitcase for a few decks?

Thought I replied to this, but apparently not! I need PAPER! I print off EVERY Kickstarter confirmation email I get, and they all go in a file folder with all the other "to be delivered" orders I've made. That folder is probably 95% Kickstarter decks. And I don't know and won't count (or at least won't publicly admit! 👅) how many decks that is! 😁
gregory Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 (edited) Ah. I have Thunderbird and all MINE are stored in the Kickstarter folder till they arrive. I have a separate folder called "buying" which also includes things like washing bubbles, toilet paper (I buy in bulk as it's the only affordable way to get the biodegradable one I want), tools, biryani paste (it has disappeared from all local supermarkets) and the like. But to check which KS decks are actually in the mail is too much like hard work. My Not So Classic Dore arrived yesterday, though. Edited November 30, 2023 by gregory
