Program for Displaying Spreads/Readings

I am frequently recreating a reading in a word programming document for a personal record or to send to a client.  I always do this by hand, although I have created some of my own templates.  I'm just wondering if a program exists that displays different spreads, i.e. a Celtic Cross spread.  Then you can import and slap in your own cards?  Having set decks in a program just would not work for me.  I would want to import my own.  I have many many scanned images of many many decks.  The decks that I use are a fairly eclectic mix so I would not find them in a program that included various decks.

Thanks for your help!

BTW, I did find the 'Visual Tarot Program', but it is only for Windows.  I have an iMac.  It looks like the Visual Tarot lets you import custom images to use as cards in addition to the hundreds of decks that they carry.

Have you seen Orphalese? I have the Tarot of Dreams edition.

🌷🤍🌷  Hello @legendaryelement!  Thank you so much for responding.  I really appreciate this.

Yes, I am familiar with Orphalese.  Long, long ago, when I was still a PC person, I actually had Orphalese.  I didn't use it a lot...  Probably it's a more sophisticated program now.

I am now totally a Mac person.  Unfortunately Orphalese is not compatible with Mac.  Also, I use a lot of different decks for readings -- none of which Orphalese features.

Have a beautiful day!  Juna 🌷🤍🌷

good suggestion about Orphalese 🙂

Personally @Natural Mystic Guide I think the answer lies in your own templates. I have made a few a well for my own writings. But if you have a celtic cross one with the positions and what they mean, then you can just insert everything in each time. Then you can use whatever writing programme you like!

Thanks for this encouragement, Daniel.  I was seriously considering plunking down several hundred for this program (if I found that it was Mac OS compatible).  So since then I have created two new templates.  It's still a bit of fussing around the dial in the correct re-sizing for cards that I bring in as there can be a lot of variance size-wise between decks.  I think that you are right.

I created a nice 7-point star reading template for a reading for the week ahead.  The thanks for this inspiration goes to Nemia for this.  Then I have been renewing my spiritual practice of a 'New Moon' reading just before the New Moon.  So I created a template for that reading as well.  I already have a template for my '4 Worlds Reading' which is based on the four Kabbalistic Worlds.  My orientation for this is Jewish, not hermetic.

I wouldn't even send those  people a quarter for that. I quote myself from another thread:

That is a thoroughly noxious site. There are threads and threads at AT, and a there was a caveat from jmd a while ago.

Don't give them so much as your initials.

I saved your template to Photos on my iPad then added it to a new Freeform board and added a card image on top. Then reduced the zoom level, selected the template image and dragged it out to enlarge until the card image covered the template position. Then added the remaining card images, a bit of text and took a screenshot. Once you’ve got the sizing right with one card you can delete the card image and duplicate the board for your template each time you want to use it. I believe Freeform is also included in the current macOS.

How about something like Goodnotes?

You can create templates as a png image and then drop images on top of that in the proper place. Images are easily resized with your mouse. You can also type in the program and export to pdf or image file.

If you have an ipad and apple pencil, it is even easier. Still not as good as a dedicated program; but probably better than Word. It is not expensive either.

Just noticed that @Serpentwand was using the "Freeform" board on ipad. Goodnotes is just like that. Goodnotes is a bit more user friendly... but Freeform is free and included with ios and the latest Mac OS update!

Thanks @gregory for sharing this information.  It's old news for many of you...  I hope that too many people have not been taken in by this.

I have an iMac desktop computer.  I tried playing with 'Freeform' a bit and it seemed a little cumbersome.  Then I went into Canva where I have a paid membership.  I was able to create a spread template there.  Thanks for the suggestions.  I use Canva frequently for a number of things and find it pretty easy to use.
