Hi all,

I just ordered the Grand Tableau Lenormand deck and I was thinking of doing a daily card draw for myself and journaling to help learn the meanings. With only 36 cards, I would expect it would be a little bit easier than doing a daily Tarot draw.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Or maybe a better way to learn the cards?

You can do 1 card or 2. Lenormand is read in pairs, but starting out with 1 is fine. In my opinion daily draws are the most difficult. No matter if it is Tarot or Lenormand. A card can apply to so many instances. I found it much better and easier to ask a specific question, like how is commute to work going? How is the meeting going? Etc.

That's good advice, @joy. I will try to make my question of the day more specific. Thank you!

My deck came in this morning (Grand Tableau Lenormand) and I had a chance to spend some time with it. To start, I asked how my post-work workout would go. There are days where I struggle and days where I enjoy it.

The cards and interpretation:

Ring, Tower, Bouquet

It will break my daily cycle and change my frame of mind into something much happier - even if it is only for a short period of time.

Result:

I was able to enjoy my workout and actually really liked the music playlist I chose. I forgot about what's been going on at work and home for a bit, which is always nice.

The one thing that I'm really liking about Lenormand is that it's truly as blunt as you can get in a reading. I find that I need that more now than I have in the past. Tarot is sometimes too flowery with its meanings.

Lovely reading! Totally agree with you, that is why I prefer Lenormand to Tarot. With Tarot one can sugar coat, while with Lenormand that will not work, those cards are just too blunt 🤪

Do you find that they ever compliment each other? I would like to try doing a 3 card Lenormand pull and then use the Tarot as a qualifier, but that may defeat the purpose of the Lenormand.

Guess it is worth trying! I have not done that, but sounds interesting!

So my second daily Lenormand reading was a hit as well. I asked what will come of my meeting with Al today?

The cards and interpretation:

Fish, Snake, Crossroads

We are working together on fixing a problem for a big customer who spends a lot of money with us. I am providing the knowledge and a quick solution for their problem (alternate interpretation of the snake). Once we apply the changes to their system, we will have to wait for the customer to confirm if it is working.

Result:

We successfully applied the patch after I shared the changes I made with Al. Now we are waiting on the customer to confirm.

Great! Just a question regarding the Snake. Was the solution either complicated or did it need detours?

No, it was rather straightforward. No detours needed. I was kind of scratching my head about the Snake interpretation, but it seemed to fit the bill this time around.

Had a great daily reading today that would up being a good end to my first week of Lenormand. The question/ask was: Describe my evening with my friend A tonight.

The cards and interpretation:

Child, Coffin, Clouds

We will have fun, laugh and enjoy ourselves. It will be the end of a strange time between the two of us where things may have been unclear.

Result:

My roommate who is a younger female tested positive for Covid, so we canceled our plans to hang out. I didn't want to pass Covid onto A if I was a carrier. We are unsure as to when we'll get together again.

I cannot believe how literal the Lenormand is. It blows my mind. I am having trouble not interpreting them like I would Tarot. It's going to take some practice, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Thank you to all who helped me through my first week. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

That is amazing, it often occurs for me in a really literal way as well 🙂 . I used to do a weekly reading every week when really studying it to see what came up for me that week.

I am sorry about your situation though. Clouds also could be the virus in the air that could spread as well, that is why you had to cancel! I hope you get to see them again soon, in better times 🙂

If you'd like to, you can record all your draws by taking out a Journal. You can record any readings there you want. Also you can say in your created journal thread if you want people to give their views and ideas going past or if you want privacy, there is space for each there 🙂

Thanks for sharing your dailies @KingOfPents. If helps me too to see cards in different aspects. Your draw was really spot on then!

I also have the Grand Tableau Lenormand (and a few others), but I haven't really committed to learning the Lenormand, yet.  I appreciate being able to see the beginning process.  These types of thread help us all learn.  Thanks for sharing 🙂
