Hi Seekers!

Lovely to have found you all here. I was a regular on AT for a while but then fell out of love with the tarot temporarily (which lasted a few years actually). When I found out AT was gone I was really sad at the loss of the community, but it's great to be here now.

I'm from the UK and have read tarot forever! But I want to enhance my skills so I'm looking forward to reading exchanges and getting to know folk 🙂

Welcome to the community @WaterSpirit 😀:animated-smileys-signs-085::78496:

Glad you have found us here and come back to tarot! Sadly Solandia archived the old forum back in July 2017. Many other places sprung up and this community started then, but the members divided all over the net and some people vanished forever 😞 . We still get people finding us though 🥰

We have many ex ATers and also loads of great new people found us, so it's a new warm and friendly community

You get more posting freedom and can access the reading and exchange areas when you get to 5 posts 🙂

Thanks DanielJUK and joy for your replies. I did wonder what happened to AT. Solandia was always so helpful when I forgot my password or similar 😆

Hope you're having a good day both. Is the UK in your name Daniel meaning the UK, or stands for something else?

Welcome! I had just returned to AT after a tarot hiatus when the notice came. I was mortified that they would close the forum and it took me quite a while to become active in another forum. But this forum has become my  new tarot home and I’m so very grateful for its existence. I’m sure you’ll love it here!

Haha Raggydoll - I love that gif! Very much hoping to be 'one of us' as there's nothing better than kindred spirits. I don't have that many spiritual people in my life. Thank you for the welcome and look forward to chatting more 🙂

I know the feeling, being around kindred spirits is like the most nourishing thing in the world!

I wrote a little about Aeclectic in the past if you want a longer read 😀.....

The UK does stand for where I live and my name, I live in London 🇬🇧🤣

Welcome @WaterSpirit.  I am also a long time Tarot reader who used to love Aeclectic Tarot as a resource.  I have found similar support and information here.  Ask any question, and you will receive varied responses -- all helpful.  This is a very friendly communityi.

Hi, @WaterSpirit  Welcome to the forum!  I have looked over the Aeclectic Tarot archives, and have been very impressed by what's there.  LOTS of great information I'm glad didn't get lost.  I didn't know about that forum while it was still operational, though, so this is my first tarot forum.  I've really enjoyed my time here.

I've been interested in— and doing—tarot to some extent since the mid 1970s.  I, too, live in the UK (Scotland) and have been here for 37 years last May) but I spent the first 37 years of my life in the USA.  Exactly half my life in each camp!  Like you, I don't have many 'kindred spirits' in my life who are interested in tarot. The ones I did have,  here where I live, have all moved away!  So I decided to dig in online.  And yes, there are lots of us around.  🙂  Nice to have you 'moving in' next door!

Hi @Chariot and thank you for this warm welcome 🙂 Apologies it's taken me few days to reply, life gets in the way of tarotey things grrr 😡

Your history sounds interesting. Did you move to the UK for a particular reason? I have Scottish heritage. If you saw me, you'd see that!

Yes, I miss not having tarot people around in real life, although I'm thinking of going to the Spiritualist Church. I've never been and a friend who went said it's very friendly, but also - surprisingly Churchy! In that, they didn't realise they'd be a big Church service before the actual spiritualist bit.

Glad that we're neighbours! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Oooh gosh, I don't know if I'd want to dip my toe into a church, but why not give it a good try?  Even if it ends up not being the kind of thing you want to continue, you might make a few like-minded friends there.  I think the tarot community has a way to go, in some places, to connect in person.

As for me, I came here on an extended 2-month visit to Scotland in the summer of 1985, intending to go to a few traditional music festivals and folk clubs as well as just knock around and see what was what.  (I have never been into sightseeing, so I avoided all the tourist traps.)  I came alone, with a backpack and tent, and just went wherever the spirit moved me to go. And in the process, I met the man who has been my husband for the past 37 years!  He visited me in Michigan, in October of that year, we decided to get married, I came back to Scotland the following summer, we got married, and here we are.  Interestingly, I have no Scottish heritage that I know of.  I'm a mongrel mix of English (both parents), Welsh (my dad), Danish (my mother) and French Canadian (my dad.)  🙂
