Dear community!
I have been learning to read tarot for whole two days now. Some might find it a bit too short, but I can assure you, I already have questions and need guidance.

I have always been very intuitive and spiritual, since I was a young teenager I've been trying to expand my consciousness and my world. Now, at 40, I bought a deck of cards, and later found out you're not supposed to buy them yourself, but I feel really good about it.

Looking forward to meeting new friends! Love, A.

Hey @Asherah welcome to the TT&M Family :animated-smileys-signs-085: That you should not buy a deck yourself is one of the many myth, it just is not true 🤪

You can read more about various Myths here

Thank you so much, @joy! I will dive into reading as much as I can because this little experience I had was amazing, and I want to know all!!

Welcome to the community @Asherah 😀:animated-smileys-signs-085::78496:

I am glad you found the cards at 40, I think we get a deck when we need them in our lives. It doesn't matter if you have bought your own deck, don't worry about the superstitions, just find your own way with it 😀

Hello Asherah and welcome:  I first bought a deck and did one, ONE! reading at age 18.  It was so powerful and so accurate that I walked away from it.  I thought (wisely), I just don't have the maturity to deal with this.  It was not until my late 40's that I began studying in earnest.  Now I have been a professional reader for more than 20 years.  It's never too late.  We are never too old.  Decks will come to you, including many that you choose to purchase yourself, in all kinds of ways.  All are good.  May I ask what are your personal associations with the name Asherah?

Thank you for the kind words! My first two readings blew me away, and I'm looking forward to going further. Especially, since I decided to do tarot as a part of my personal spiritual journey.
I heard the name Asherah and immediately felt connected to it, for no particular reason, but later learned about it's origin. I am a leo, and I have a lioness tattoo on my back to watch for the evil eyes behind me! So Asherah is name for her, my guardian, I guess.
