Hi, my name is Eugenie,

I might be the only one here from Uzbekistan. It is in Central Asia, next to Afghanistan, and it used to be a part of the Soviet Union. My mother tongue is Russian so please forgive me if my English is clumsy sometimes or if I misunderstand something.

A completely newbie to Tarot, I would like to learn both RWS and TdM. Presently trying to read several books at once, maybe not the best idea.

I live with my husband, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, three cats and lots of chickens and many trees.

I am a Fayerie Traditionalist learning how to apply the Old Ways to modern life.

Greetings!

It's good to start with basics like TdM and RWS.

And yes, maybe stick to one book at first 😇

I had only 1 book and 1 deck for 15 years before I got others. This helped me learn. It was before the internet };>

Thank you very much for your warm welcome, Misterei! I definitely need to get grounded a bit and just read patiently. Availability of too much learning material is sometimes detrimental, at least to me. When I had less opportunities, I used to study all books available very carefully.

Welcome to the community @Eugenie 😀:animated-smileys-signs-085:Glad you have found us here. I hope one day we have someone here from everywhere and I think we can say we have at least one person from every continent but you might be our first person from Uzbekistan! ❤️ . Your English was perfect, there are plenty of people here where English isn't their first language, so don't worry too much about mistakes 🙂

I would suggest keeping learning simple, do one deck type at at time, otherwise it gets too confusing.

RWS has a lot of resources online, so you might want to start with it. We have a list of free online course if it helps.....

Hi DanielJUK! Thank you so much for welcoming me, I already feel very comfortable here. And I believe you are right, one deck at a time must be best. As I only have the Spacious Tarot now, this is what I am working with.

Will check those resources, thank you again.

(seems like I can't mention people's names yet)

There are some restrictions until you get to 5 posts. I think you can quote posts now. When you get to 5 posts, you can see the whole forum and you get no posting or tagging names restrictions 🙂

Hi @joy, thank you so much! A lovely forum, I am glad I found it! I don't do much Facebook as I am irritated by the lack of structure and posts disappearing. A good old forum is the way to go.
