Jimjam Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 This may sound like a stupid question 🫣 but I really want to know everyone's shuffling and cleansing technique...  Shuffling: I know a lot of readers in the world dont and do read reversals. Either ways, how do you shuffle your cards? And if you read reversals, how do you make sure to shuffle them upside down as well?...  Cleansing: I have realised that doing readings for multiple people without cleansing the deck can corrupt the cards that come out or are picked. I have heard of various ways of cleansing but I would love to hear from forumers...
gregory Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 I don't use reversals - but - I riffle shuffle. If it's a non-riffleable deck, I swirl them around on the table. Â I don't subscribe to the cleansing school; I have never found my decks "corrupt" for one moment, but I do wipe off spillages - they don't happen often, but when they do....
Misterei Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 (edited) I do an overhand shuffle. I don't want reversals. If I want reversals i do a riffle shuffle or swirl as @gregory describes.  I DO occasionally cleanse when a deck feels "tired". Usually re-ordering the deck and burning some purifying incense in my reading space is enough. There are more elaborate methods which you can visit my website and read my blog how to do. This would be more for a used or vintage deck you acquire. Seldom necessary for normal use unless you have a LOT of clients. If a deck feels polluted, i burn it. Edited December 28, 2023 by Misterei
