A thread for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Thank you Fire cat!

This week I'll be using the Legacy of the Divine Tarot, created and self-published by Ciro Marchetti (now published by Llewellyn). I'll pair with it the Tea Leaf Reading Cards, created and self-published by Karin Dalton-Smith. Today's draws are the Nine of Coins and Ship:

Hi gang!  I’m going to pause learning my new decks because I’m working on a project, so this week I’ll be using a repeat, Inversion Tarot. (It was my very first deck of the week, the first week of quarantine here in DC, March 16, 2020.)

It’s a U.S. Games deck in a tin that is a redrawing and reversing in color (white lines on black instead of black on white) of the Rolla Nordic Tarot of 1960.  It’s a cute pips deck that has swords that look like swords and a few playing card touches.  Coins are pentacles, but I can overlook that.  Knights are called horsemen.  The booklet has several bulleted meanings and reversed meanings for each card and a four-card spread and ppf spread.

Interview time!

What is your most important characteristic?  Ace of Swords

It’s an intellectual deck.  It helps readers have an a-ha moment.

What is your strength?  Nine of Pentacles

It has a unique presentation, and it’s a nifty little physical item to own.

Your weakness?  Queen of Swords

It’s not a teaching deck.  It works best with someone who already knows a lot about tarot.  (Or has her own tarot system, like me!)

What can you teach me?  Page of Cups

It’s a baby-steps teacher of combining intuition and feeling with systems.

How can I learn it?  Eight of Swords

By overthinking my readings!  I should spend more time with the cards to get the hidden, subtle gist.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  The Lovers

As you can tell, I do have affection for this little deck, and using it this week will strengthen our bond.  I’ll choose it in the future when I want something simple and easy to read.

I think this week is for KissaTarot! 🙂

I'm still here working with the Mary-El Tarot.  Because I am in Bali, I somehow often miss the message about starting a new week of 'Deck of the Week'.  I'm asleep when most people are awake.

My concentrated study with the Mary-El Tarot has come to an end.  I'm happy to report that in the final analysis I shall be keeping and working with this deck.  It's been a bit of a rough ride -- sometimes a perplexing love-hate relationship.  I can now see the value of doing the extra work required to use this deck and am sure that it will serve me well in certain types of readings as well as contribute to my growth as a reader and as a human.

Why not check out my 'New Deck Interview' on my blog for more card images and my full report.
