Misterei Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 (edited) After banging my head against the wall on the the whole Fox vs. Moon as the LN Work card ... I've come to some Conclusions: Lenormand HAS no work card. Not like Tarot very kindly gives us 8 coins, Ace coins, Knight Coins. I REALLY REALLY wanted LN to "work" that way and give me at least ONE work card. But no. LN doesn't care how Tarot does it. I hate both Moon and Fox as "work" cards. Neither fits. Much respect to Andy B and Rana George ... but not for me. I think Rana added a Market card as an extra in her deck ... forget all the extra Lord and Lady cards ... add a Market card, please! So far I like @katrinka method of Anchor as a Job. As she pointed out, most folks look upon their job as an anchor for their financial and social stability. That hits. Moon as reputation could certainly apply during a job interview or a promotion question. Or if you work as an influencer where your popularity *is* the job. Fox can apply to rivals and competitors in any business related scenario. I also personally see Fox as 2 weeks [14 days] and many salaries are paid every 2 weeks. People often give or get 2-week notice. Fish is supposed to be cash and cash flow ... but it sorta hits for any work I do for cash payment. Like maybe Fish + [work card] = the type of work someone does for money. I need to experiment with this to see if it works. Ship for trade, retail, and import/export. Tower for corporate, government, school or hospital. A big organization. House for residentail realors, home based business, cottage industry. Rider for pilots , conductors, or drivers??? Definitely the person who drives the Amazon delivery truck. Just some thoughts. I have yet to test these IRL ... although some I've noticed in my Daily draws. Mostly I feel happy I gave myself permission to drop the whole Moon/Fox thing. Whew. Edited April 18, 2024 by Misterei
fire cat pickles Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 (edited) I do not use Fox as work but as the skillset needed at work, work politics (sort of?) for good or bad, for me against me, depends on context. Moon is for recognition. It reflects on people. I don't *get it for work? What's that about? Maybe for a promotion. Again, context. Anchor definitely for longterm career. Long story short, no one card for job. It's all context. One of the reasons I'm a fan of charging a card and finding it the deck (lost man spread) and doing a reading that way. I think the trick is to stay consistent with which card you use as your work-related card. Mine is Anchor when I read on work stuff. DanielJUK Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 I think there are two things going on here and people get all caught up by the one "work card" to rule them all kinda idea. If you want to look for work and career in a GT with a specific card / house or to use as a significator in a reading, you have to think about one work or career card to represent that. Often for me that is Anchor but sometimes other cards. However, in a reading, any card can represent work in a combination. What about if you preselect no cards for your reading and just do a 3 /5 /7/ 9 card spread and get no anchor or moon or fox! The other cards still represent the work / career question.
joy Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Agree fully with what has been said before me. To have a 'designated' work card is really only needed when you do a GT. If someone wants to know about their job, then you will check the work card and its surrounding cards. If you do short lines asking a question about a job, then the work card does not have to be in the line to answer your question, like @DanielJUK pointed out.

Often for me that is Anchor but sometimes other cards. Yes. I really, really wanted One Card to Rule Them All 😇 My struggle has been to see it in tableaux. To differentiate signal from noise. I'm glad to hear other readers mention they [at least somewhat] relate Anchor to employment. 7 hours ago, DanielJUK said: However, in a reading, any card can represent work in a combination. I've done 3 or 5 lines professionally for clients with short, direct questions ... especially to save time on a secondary spread so I didn't have to shuffle a whole tarot deck if the clock was running out. My problem is/was specific to Tableaux style readings which I don't do professionally b/c I suck at them [but I'm progressing!]. 3 hours ago, joy said: ... I'm good with a 3 or 5 line especially if it's an add-on to a Tarot reading and I just need a quick, specific answer for my client. We already understand all the subtle nuances from Tarot and need that direct LN approach to save time. BUT the Tableax style readings serve a different purpose. They can be more open ended and generalized. I want to add that to my skillset. At least for myself if not for clients. Clients frequently want a "general check-in" for family, career, their upcoming vacation, and their creative project all at once. I think LN Tableaux style readings lend themselves to this ... if I can learn to do them! Edited April 19, 2024 by Misterei
