Deian Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 There is no more randomness in programming languages then in using real cards I think. Can't use 1 and 0 to go through a math function that will provide unpredictable result, just no way to do that. Otherwise math instead of exact science would become a guessing one... We usually connect it to the milliseconds of the clock the time user made something(push button etc.)

"Will I sign the contract?" and you pull Strength. I mean I guess that's a yes? But it's not all nice and clear like 2 Cups, or 2 Wands. "Will I stay single?" Strength. also yes [at least how I read strength as subduing animal passions]. Or "will i stay single?" and you pull Justice. or Fool. or 6 Cups. Anyway, when I've tried to read Tarot on yes/no by this fashion ... 50% of the time I end up scratching my head muttering, wtf? I see what you mean. Again, the context is very important: I suppose there would be a reason for why I'd pull a more ambiguous card (e.g. 6 of Cups for "Will I stay single?" might mean the return of an ex). So far, I've been able to determine the answers quite confidently - but I haven't been doing it long enough. Time will tell. 21 hours ago, Misterei said: I agree 100%. This is why I don't use tarot apps. I don't want random. I want the ghost in the machine. That being said, I don't see these approaches as mutually exclusive. I like math. I note probabilities. I fully believe that my subtle senses are working WITH mathematics to give me the answers I seek. We moderns have lost this. Pythagoras taught a mystical approach to mathematics which has been sadly whitewashed out of our educational system. Exactly that. Mystical math is something very different to the formalistic one of the modern day. Is there really an "either/or" (either science or the spiritual, etc.)?

I can't make up my mind about an ambiguous card. I want the clarity of numbers 😉

Anesiadora Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 I don't view any card as specifically a yes or no, the answer of the card would depend on its context within the question. So there's not really set odds in the way that I personally read yes or no answers. Depending on how you define your cards as answers, the probability can be set or change, however regardless of the odds, I think if you shuffle and draw intuitively, you'll still get the answer. I did an experiment way back of only having 5 set cards as a no answer a while back, and they still popped up when they needed to, so imo probability is less of a force than intuition. The powers that be will give you the answer you need to hear.
