Hello,

Under Lenormand forum there are various subforums which all make sense [card studies, reading exchanges, etc]

But I feel the LN forum needs a SUBFORUM for SPREADS [GT, smaller tableaux, etc.]

This seems like a frustrating omission. A User who specifically wants to learn or post about LN spreads would have to search all the various random topics.

GT is such an integral part of reading the LN. Seems like there should be one subforum home for all threads on GT and other spreads.

I tried to make a Lenormand Spreads subforum ... but I don't think I have the necessary permissions?

Hey @Misterei correct, users are not allowed to add sub-forums, otherwise we might get a very confusing structure. What exactly do you want to do in that Sub-Forum? Discuss personal readings or just talking about spreads in general?

Hi Joy. Similar to how Tarot forum has a Tarot Spreads subforum.

Proposed sub-forum name and description. [feel free to make it shorter or whatever]

LENORMAND SPREADS

A place to discuss Grand Tableau and other Lenormand spreads. NOT FOR PERSONAL READINGS. This subforum is to discuss reading techniques for Grand Tableau, smaller tableaux, box or portrait spreads, line spreads, cross spreads, pyramid spreads, etc.

Lenormad spreads are different from Tarot spreads. This subforum explores Lenormand spreads and techniques for reading them.

We tend to only add a new subforum when there is demand for one or it will be a busy area.

I looked through and there has only been about 2 threads in the history of the forum about Lenormand Spreads.

Why not post spreads and discussions about spreads in the main Lenormand section? That is a catch all area for everything, It's a pretty quiet place.

If there are a lot of spread discussions in future we can move them and make a subsection for them 🙂

My user experience has been frustrating that there is no subforum for LN spreads. Possibly I'm the only one.

My recent experience is that there have been several discussions about spreads that get lost in the churn of the general area. There is no way to build continuity--especially for a spread as integral as GT. I feel frustrated posting about GT in the general section b/c it gets lost in the churn and no continuity will arise.

@DanielJUK you are super good at the search functions. You often dig up things i never even saw [thanks!]

But many Users [especially new ones] aren't as good with the search function. A Spreads subforum allows for continuity in the discussions and a User-friendly "highlight" on a basic topic.

I personally see a Spreads subforum as more beneficial to more Users than the "Treppner Course" and "Experimental Lenormand" Subforums. Both of these topics seem undeserving of a whole subforum. OTOH, a Spreads subforum seems basic, normal, and useful to all Lenormand students.

Happy to help in any way I might. I know people are busy. I feel the LN Forum might get more interest and engagement if there was a Spreads subforum and possibly dump the Experimental and Treppner subforums.  I honestly don't see LN students needing those more than a Spreads subforum. I would be happy to help if I could.

Hey @Misterei we will not dump any sub-forums. You might not need them but when we made them, there was a demand and very good reason for those.

The Treppner was added as we had a group who wanted to learn together. We did a poll for that. The experimental section has been added as we tend to be more traditional. So everyone who wants to explore has a space.

If we add a subforum we have to be certain it will be used. Staff will look into it.

@joy and @DanielJUK

Last comment on the topic then I will be quiet and move on.

Things change.

In my observation there's a new crop of Users who would be better served by the Basics--*Lenormand Decks" and *Lenormand Spreads*.

This would follow the format of the Tarot Forum which has subforums for *Tarot Decks* and *Tarot Spreads.*

Nice basic topics every User cares about.

I see NO new engagement with the Treppner Course. It also seems to violate the *no promotions* rule to a new user who wasn't aware of the group request in the past. It appears like TTM is promoting this course.

It's possible that TTM has new users who don't care about the Treppner course and don't understand what Experimental means.

OTOH, Pretty much every LN student cares about Spreads and Decks. These topics have broad appeal and everyone understands why they would be subforums.

OK, I will stop now.

Happy to help if I can.

As always, i appreciate your moderation work that keeps the site polite and friendly to All.

Hey @Misterei , thank you very much for your suggestion. Staff has looked into it and do not yet feel the need for a sub-forum. You can add your general posts discussing spreads in the top Lenormand Forum. If there is a lot of interest, we will look into creating a sub-forum again, and we can move the threads over to it. It's under review for the future. If you make a thread collecting Lenormand Spreads, we can pin it to the top of the main section for you, to make it an easy to find reference.
