GnosisHypnosis Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Hello TT&M... my name is Daniel; I’m a millennial, 40-something year-old Pagan, Chaos Magician, and Eclectic Witch from the Olympic Peninsula in the PNW. I’ve been exploring spirituality and developing my own craft since 2018. Although a RWS tarot deck has been in my possession this whole time, I’ve admittedly not used it to its full potential. My goal in linking with this community to become better at both reading the tarot cards in general and joining together a full narrative, given the spread. I’ve also acquired a handful of other tarot decks over the years that I would like to include more often in my craft in more profound ways; love coming across new ideas! I’m excited to join this community, and lurk, but also hopefully engage with you wonderful like-minded individuals. Cheers!
FindYourSovereignty Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Welcome Daniel! There is lots of great information here and opportunities to use your variety of decks. There is one in particular called: Deck of the Week you may enjoy.
DanielJUK Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Welcome to the community @GnosisHypnosis 😃 Glad you have found us here on your journey Can I just say, what an excellent name! 😄 I might be biased as another Daniel 🙂
joy Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Hello @GnosisHypnosis welcome to the TT&M Family
Scandinavianhermit Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Welcome, @GnosisHypnosis! What does PNW mean? I'm not good at abbreviations in foreign languages, I'm afraid. I've been told, that Eden Gray's books about the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot are good beginner books for those who attempt to make the RWS work. I eventually found other decks, that suits me better. If informing a clueless northern European about the socio-cultural landscape of Paganism in your whereabouts sounds fun, don't hesitate to send me a message. I'm hard-to-define on religiospiritual matters myself, but "Druid" is a convenient shorthand for something more complicated. Some would probably call what I do "syncretism".
Mikeyc Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Welcome Daniel. as a way of saying hi. To learn a=how to read. There are many good resources and books out there id be happy to recommend one or two
GnosisHypnosis Posted November 13, 2024 Author Posted November 13, 2024 Thank you all for the welcome! I've had a lot of fun lurking around so far! 😁 I'm still getting used to the overall platform and so I'm not able to link/quote, or @ to specific individuals at the moment it seems... BUT I always love when Daniels unite 🤣, and I apologize for the abbreviation used - I failed to realize what an international community this is and probably should have typed it out. The PNW is short for the Pacific Northwest and encompasses mostly Washington State and Oregon here in the U.S.
DanielJUK Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 No need to apologise, all us non Americans learnt something new 😀 When you get to 5 posts, there are much less restrictions in posting. It weeds out spam accounts.

Now when you explain it, PNW seems very obvious, but it wasn't before. I probably have second cousins in Seattle, but I suspect they are much older than I am. Their children or grandchildren ought to be about my age. I don't know, because my elderly relatives lost contact with the PNW side of the family in the 1970s (when I was a child) when my maternal grandfather died. Allegedly, there are quite a few Swedish-Americans in Seattle. Though not my main taste in music, it happens, that I listen to Nirvana for nostalgic reasons.
