A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

You can’t escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.
―Abraham Lincoln

Have you ever been cleaning out your purse, wallet or pockets and found money you didn't know was there? The Ace of Pentacles is about discovering an unexpected resource, something that could be useful to us if we do something prudent with it. The card shows games of chance (die and marbles), rings, a burned down candle and keys. Do we use this resource on a lottery ticket, more trinkets or household items, or do we use it to unlock a door that might lead to a beneficial opportunity? Mary Shelley is known for writing Frankenstein, a book about a scientist who created life and was horrified by what he had made. These cards encourage us to recognize and accept responsibility for how we use what we've been given.

Hi, all!  I got way behind last week, so I'm continuing with my Chinese Five Elements Oracle and Tibetan Oracle Pack this week.

I'll join in with my Gill and Karma cards (which I forgot I had because they were sitting upright like a book in my bookshelf, how neglectful of me!).

I'm in with my brand new Bee Tarot and I think it'll pair nicely with my Seasons of the Witch Litha Oracle 🙂

I am continuing to play with the Lenono Fortune Telling Cards by Paris Debono.

The Sexy Spread is used when dealing with objects of desire:  wheter it be disire for a person, a job, an accomplishment, a new home etc.

My reading has to do with my desire to become a referee for MCR (Mahjong Competition Rules) tournaments.

First you choose significators for yourself and for the object of desire.  I have chosen ’15’ Woman as my significator; and ’10’ Stars for the object of my desire.

After shuffling, we remove the top two cards as the ‘filters.  These cards set the tone for the reading:  ’18’ Clouds and ’20’ Cross.  We place these two filter cards at the top of the reading.  The cards are put face up.  We look through the deck for the Significators and pull them out along with the cards that are immediately in front of and behind them.  These three cards then go beneath the two filter cards.

Now each line of cards represents the past and the present of The Significator.  Which cards represent past and present are determined by the way that the figure in the card is facing.  This is called “directional reading”.

My card No. 10 seems to facing straight forward, so I read both cards, No. 19 and No. 11 as both past and future.  Card No. 15, Woman, faces left.  So she is looking towards the future — Card No. 7 Snake.  She is facing away from Card No. 9 Scythe.

My two filter cards cancel each other out.  I don’t feel any particular confusion or anxiety around the prospect of becoming a referee/or not.

The first line, about my aspiration seems positive.  This is an avocation, not a career/job.  Attaining my aspiration would be a source of strength and pride and could also open up interesting opportunities — especially if the MCR Mahjong ultimately becomes a part of the Winter Olympics.

In the second line, I interpret that Scythe as ameliorating any opposition that might stand in the way of accomplishing my desire.

If one wants more information about one of the cards in this spread, then the remainder of the cards are shuffled.  Take the number of that card.  In my case here, I would like more information about Card No. 11.  What auspicious opportunities might open up?  So I shuffle and count down.  As I count, I place counted cards at the bottom of the stack assuring that there will be enough cards to find my clarifying card.

My clarifying card is No. 2 Moon.  So this clarifies that attaining my desire will enhance my personal reputation. 2.jpeg.bbf7546465135d80184a35037b45ee28.jpeg
