From Montreal (Quebec) - Thanks for the welcome

Hello, my name is Pierre-Yves and I'm a gay man based in Montreal, Quebec (French-speaking Canada). I became interested in tarot when I was a lonely teenager. I even drew one with felt pens on index cards when I was 15.

I think everything I've been through since then (trials, grieving, changing relationships) has deepened my understanding of the symbols. And even if the quantity of tarot on the market today is dizzying, there are still artists who manage to astonish me and embody its symbols in a way that's even more pertinent and useful for the world to come. That's what makes me want to get involved too (I'm an illustrator, I work with watercolors and Photoshop).

Here to share my understanding of the arcanas and discover new points of view. I'm particularly interested in the social, political and environmental implications of tarot readings.

Bienvenue @Pierre-Yves :animated-smileys-signs-085: I am glad you found our community :78496:

We don't allow links or text links to our social media or websites in posts. It breaks our promotions rule (rules here) as it's self-promotion.

We only allow this for subscribers as a perk, in the signature and in the Promote Yourself section of the forum and we want to keep it off the rest of the forum. I edited that part out of the post.

Welcome to you also.

Is your profile pic a self-portrait? I noticed you mentioned drawing when you were younger.

Thank you. Yes, this is a self-portrait, done for a class in 2017. I studied illustration and worked in 2D animation studios for a few years.

Very fine.
I went to school for fine art with a focus on painting. But I mostly did abstract work, so been re-teaching myself more representational work.
