Rose Lalonde Posted July 26 Posted July 26 (edited) This one is fiesty! The first decan of Leo, a decan ruled by Saturn. Part 1 is up at Tabula Mundi DECAN WALK: LEO 1, FIVE OF WANDS – Part I "There is a sense of pressure, as the Sun and Saturn are opposites: one warm and bright, one dark and cold. The sun at the center of the system, and Saturn at the furthest edge (considering the classical planets.) Add in fiery Mars and this clash gives rise to pressure, as in magma from a volcano seeking... continue reading Part 2 - an overload in the garden and some peppery nasturtium vinegar. Rose Lalonde Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 In addition to the obvious meaning of this card, one that also comes up a lot for me is friendly competition, from video games to the Olympics. But it can also be pressure building to a breaking point, like the volcanic eruptions tabulamundi.com refers to. My partner and I have been a bit irritable of late, which seems apt for this decan. Not at each other, just tired of not feeling well. We finally recovered from the flu, and then both caught Covid for the first time, so are sick again. You will by now be sick of me saying I'm sick. 😆 Cards on the desk this decan... (From Pharos Tarot, the Spiral = Lust. The Keeper = The World)

I hope you’re able to zen your way through this tough period of your life! Wishing both of you a smooth and sustained recovery.

Rose Lalonde Posted August 2 Author Posted August 2 (edited) A quote from skyscript's page for Leo. It's my go-to site for the classical astrology used in Telos Tarot, etc. Quote Widespread hero myths, such as those of Gilgamesh, Oedipus, Orion, Hercules, or Samson, depict tales of wrestling with the lion – all have been identified as calendar myths that relate to the sun’s annual journey through the sky. As the hero does battle with the lion, he absorbs the solar qualities and takes them as his own. In the widely reported Greek myth, Leo is said to commemorate the fierce Nemean Lion, brother of the Sphinx, which Hercules must defeat in the first of his trials. The Nemean lion symbolises the fierce and devastating summer heat that ravishes the land. No weapon, stone, club, or instrument made of iron or bronze can penetrate its skin; it is an ‘impossible’ task: unyielding to cunning, craft, or speed. Hercules can only succeed by summoning the entire strength of his being, the full magnitude of his inner will and fixed, determined spirit. I know many of you up in the northern hemisphere can relate to the sentence in bold. 🫠 And for a bit of trivia, some things associated with Leo by Claude Dariot, a 16th century French physician who influenced William Lilly: Bestial behavior Courage Honesty Overly luxurious Castles Steep and rocky places The Alps Deserts Pestilent fevers Large eyes Large head Pimples on the face Ribs Edited August 2 by Rose Lalonde
