A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at anytime—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Learning how to be still, to really be still and let life happen - that stillness becomes a radiance.
—Morgan Freeman

My first impression of this card was of a deprivation tank - those pods filled with saltwater people float in that minimize external stimuli and create a sense of sensory deprivation. Even the High Priestess seems to have left her externals - the pentacle, the wand, the cup and the sword. She knows if we want to find our luminous inner wisdom, we have to leave behind our tools and what we already know. Most of us, however, would relate to Pico Iyer, "I'm a tourist on the realm of stillness." Tsunami is a good symbol for all the thoughts, sensations and emotions that flood us when we try to still our bodies and minds. Take heart (and keep at it); let the words of Henepola Gunaratana encourage you:

Somewhere in this process you will come face-to-face with the sudden and shocking realization that you are completely crazy. Your mind is a shrieking gibbering madhouse on wheels barreling pell-mell down the hill utterly out of control and hopeless. No problem. You are not crazier than you were yesterday. It has always been this way, and you just never noticed. You are also no crazier than everybody else around you. The only real difference is that you have confronted the situation they have not.

Hi, everybody!  I hope you've had a happy July so far!

I had a short break when I wasn’t receiving new decks (now over of course!), so I put these two already-in-my-collection lenormands into my rotation.

They’re the same deck in different versions, and my favorite lenormands right now because of the Edwardian fashions.  I’ve had Lenormand Oracle Cards since before I really knew about lenormands.  It’s a Lo Scarabeo deck repro that makes it obvious that there were originally inserts at the top that were taken out.  Then I found the repro of the original deck with playing card inserts, Schneider & Co. Lenormand c. 1918, on The Cartomancer site and grabbed it too.

I’m a perennial lenormand newbie, so I hope to get some practice in and maybe lose that title this week.  I recently started digging into the pairing spreads found in the Divination Workbook by Studio Artemy (a freebie pdf that came with the decks I got from them), so let’s use five card readings for the interviews.  (And probably most of the readings this week.)

Monday2.thumb.jpg.daf307a65114d593bf9d3c44aaa8a310.jpg

Center, main theme:  Heart
I will love this deck.

Pairs:
Clover + Cross:  I am lucky to have the opportunity to play with lenormands, but it’s kind of a pain for me to understand and learn.

Cross + Heart:  But when I overcome the difficulty, I will love it.

Heart + Tree:  I will love expanding and growing my abilities.

Tree + Lady:  I will not only finally understand better, but lenormand will also help me grow as a person.

Clover + Lady:  I am indeed a lucky person.

Cross + Tree:  As much as I hate this idea, difficulties do help us grow and be better.

Back to Heart:  It will be a very positive relationship.

Monday3.thumb.jpg.4610d350cc7c694ac818a0de68b05766.jpg

Center, main theme:  Lady
My readings with this deck will be personal, not general.

Pairs:
Gentleman + Sun:  The deck will help me deal with the current ex situation, and it will turn out well.

Sun + Lady:  I’ll be happy with it anyway.

Lady + Heart:  More than happy!

Heart + Key:  The more important topic I’ll deal with is love.  (Not romantic love, though!)

Gentleman + Key:  The solution is getting the situation resolved for good.

Sun + Heart:  And everything will be all good.

Back to Lady:  The deck will be an actual help to me as I think things through.

We’ll see!

Hi! I´m back with The Tarot of 78 doors.

Monday card: Ace of Pentacles.

A happy woman is sitting outside her nice house, she looks content.

I should be content with what I have and take care of that.

But something is brewing in the back of my head, about money....

Spending money on something new...

Like new Tarot decks...

Tuesday card: 5 in Pentacles.

An old man is sitting in a doctors waiting-room, he don´t look happy.

Maybe I shall take it easy and wait till I got all answers, before I decide what to do about the money.

As anyone who does a Vipassana meditation retreat will discover!  I love this quote and your post in its entirety.

Thanks for your contribution @Bodhiseed

Wednesday card: The High Priestess.  She looks more like a Fortune teller lady than a Priestess.

She gaze into a kristall ball and see shadows of my life....

I just feel that she is telling me to take my time, no rushing, think, take it easy and rest.

My time will come when it's my time.

Thursday card: 5 in Wands.

A man is standing in front of a brick door, he has a sledgehammer in his hands.

So whatever that I want to find or get I really have to work hard and put in all strength I have to get it.

But is it worth it?

I don´t know what´s behind the brick door or do I?

Maybe I´m dreaming that what ever is in there, it´s something I want or maybe it´s just an empty room!

If I know myself I will just put down the sledgehammer and walk away without even trying do get in!

Friday card: Page in Wands.

An other man that is standing outside a door with a gift to the woman who is opening the door.

I don't know what this gift is, there is no person in my life that will come with gifts to me and that is not the postman,

I have not ordered anything.

What ever it's it must be a secret, for the gift is in a box with a huge bow on top.

Saturday card: 8 of Wands.

Two women is standing in front of a table full of keys. One is laughing and the other one looks lika she is very determined to find what key is the right one.

What ever that I´m looking for I need to dive deep in my memory to find the right key to open up the right door.

Who is the other woman? Another me? An friend or enemy?

Posted

Sunday card: 3 of Swords.

And old woman is sitting in a rocking-chair. In her left hand she has a pin and in the right hand she has a voodoo doll

and in that doll is already two pins!

What evil is this old woman up to?

Life is tough but what does this mean?

The only pins and needles in my life are my diabetes needles and they are not evil on purpose, only little pain now and then.

So is it me that want´s to hurt someone badly? I don´t think so!

Or is it me that is hurting myself by refusing myself something or don´t understand what I shall do?

This card is awful but funny at the same time!😉
