Deck of the Week Sign-up Thread, Week 430: Sep 29 - Oct 5

A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

 

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

• Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
• Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you 
• Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
• Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

 

Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. You can drop in and out at any time—reality and life permitting. New to tarot? Long time reader? Come on in!

Kings offer guidance, but as the Elder of Air knows, guidance without clarity is worthless. To slow down his mind, which sniffs every bush constantly to see what needs to be worried about, he plays his flute. Focus allows his thoughts to slow down, giving him a chance to see clearly what is true and what is genuinely important. Minerva knows one major problem that fogs up our glasses is unfounded, unquestioned beliefs. She tells us: "I am what I think; my life is shaped and formed by what I tell myself. I make sure what I carry is of my own careful choosing and serves me well."

Hi, crew!  Another week, another deck!  This week for me will be Crystal Tarot by Elisabetta Trevisan.  I had this deck years ago (with the ugly reversed backs), gave it away, and got it back again (with prettier backs).  It will now be available in a new edition from Lo Scarabeo on October 1 (probably with the same backs in the new LS hard box, oh, and without the 5 languages).

 

It’s a beautiful but strange Spanish/Eudes Picard/El Gran Tarot Esoterico deck.  Strange because about half of the number cards are arranged and illustrated as El Gran Tarot Esoterico, and the others seem to reuse the illustrations of the lower numbers with added pips. 

 

As El Gran Tarot Esoterico, coppe are air, and spade are water (with bastoni as fire and denari as earth). 

 

The booklet says the artist was inspired by Klimt, but it’s not very similar to me.

 

I’ll probably just use the majors in the future, but let’s live dangerously with the full deck this week.  Interview time!

 

 

What is your most important characteristic?  10 Bastoni

It’s a lot to deal with!

 

What is your strength?  La Forza

Its strength is strength.  (I see the Klimt here!)  It’s power is its beauty.

 

Your weakness?  Asso de Bastoni

It’s weakness is its pips.  The deck is confident where it probably shouldn’t be.

 

What can you teach me?  Cavaliere di Denari

It can teach me to go forward with working with the physical, artistic aspects of the deck.

 

How can I learn it?  Regina di Denari

By relating to the deck through my love of beauty and collecting.

 

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Il Carro

I will move forward, either recommitting to keeping the deck or deciding to let it go from my collection.  We’ll see a the end of the week.

Hello!

I´m back and also my struggling with Tarot of the 78 doors continue.

 

Monday card: 3 of Chalices.

 

I was surprised when this card jumped up. It has never been up before during this years daily draws.

Three women is in a bedroom or a dressing room, taking on or of their clothes!

They seem to have a fun time, laughing and looks happy.

 

Maybe something that I should be talking and sharing with friends. 

Maybe just a phone call to a friend?

It´s to late now, but maybe tomorrow?

 

Tuesday card: King of Chalices.

 

A mermaid man is looking at a golden chalice, that he has raised in the air. He has a very happy and content face.

So whatever it is, he is celebrating his victory and good things that he has done.

 

I shall take more time with myself and be proud of what I have done so far.

Every little step I take to make things better for myself is good and I learn new things on the way.

Wednesday card: 9 of Pentacles.

A woman is inviting a couple to her home.

 

I think I have to meet more people, not just spending so much time of my own.

Make an afford to myself to learn, get new insights and share more of my life with people I trust and like.

 

Thursday card: 7 of Swords.

A painter is working on a canvas, he´s picturing a part of a room and a door. The door is closed.

I think that he´s feeling trapped and are repeating his life/painting over and over again.

He want´s it to become perfect.

 

That is exactly how I feel of my life. I´m walking in circles and can´t get out. Don´t know what to do except 

repeating the things I already know, I feel safe then.

And why trying new things when I can´t get it perfect from the beginning?

Friday card: The Devil.

 

Up or down with him, I don´t care. On the card he is a shadow on the wall.

The couple in front of him is standing in a pentagram holding hands and it looks like they are waiting for him to speak.

 

I have been sleeping the whole day and night, I´m tired and ill, (I have diabetes).

I take this as a warning that I have to take better care of myself or something bad is coming out of this.

 

Saturday card: 2 of Pentacles.

 

A couple is diving down a blue pool. They are surrounded by the sign of eternal.

 

Swim or sink is what I feel when I see this card. Since they / I are hanging in the air it´s not much else I can do,

I have to swim to survive.

 

Sunday card: Ace of Swords.

 

A sword is hold with the point down by a hand over a maze made of hedges.

It´s green and well taken care of and it looks like it´s going on for ever.

 

I see this as a warning too! Start a new way with my life or I will get lost forever.

Mazes / my life is not to be played with if I´m not strong or have some support for how to make it out.

And that is exactly that I´m not or have.

 

When I´m looking at this weeks cards I almost see warnings in every one of them!😟
