All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck. No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us! Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form Share as often, as much, or as little as you like. Rachelcat Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Happy Monday, all! In service to my continuing endeavor to buy all the historical decks (and use all Llewellyn site discount coupons!), this week will be Tarot de Marseille Gassman, Geneve, 1840 CA., another Lo Scarabeo Anima Antiqua offering. Looks like a bog standard Marseille, but we’ll see if I can see any distinguishing elements this week. In the past, I kind of avoided Marseilles because of the whole swords don’t look like swords thing, but I guess I’m getting past that? Interview time! What is your most important characteristic? XIII The deck is the end of my dislike of swords? The end of my historical reproduction obsession? The end of the Anima Antiqua series? What is your strength? Le Mat The deck is open and ready for anything. Even if it’s really out there. Your weakness? Reine de Baton The deck has difficulty combining its fiery and watery sides. What can I learn from you? 10 Coupe I can learn about happy families or how everybody can be happy. How can I learn it? 10 Baton Wow, a pair of 10s. I can learn about happiness for everyone by being ready to act on that, even if it will be difficult. What will be the outcome of our work together? Le Soleil Everybody indeed will be happy. And open and honest. Kind of goes with le Mat. I think the deck will be easy to read and good for reading about positive and good things.
Bodhiseed Posted October 6 Posted October 6 (edited) I'm in with the the Classic Tarot paired with the Constellations Deck - thank you Fire cat! The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see. ― Alexandra K. Trenfor The Knaves are naturally curious, eager to learn and explore; in the Coins suit, the focus is on the material world, rather than concepts, feelings, or energy. This fellow proudly holds up a coin like a young man in 4H who won a prize for a melon. He obviously had a good mentor. Pyxis is a small and faint constellation in the southern sky. Its name - Pyxis Nautica - is Latin for a mariner's compass. Whatever we're trying to learn, having an experienced teacher can guide us, helping us avoid blind alleys and dead ends. Their job is not to tell us everything, but to show us how to learn by doing. As Robert Hutchins wrote, "“The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives.” Edited October 7 by Bodhiseed
Libra 58 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I´m in with The Tarot of 78 doors. Monday card: The Devil. He´s still keeping an eye on me, this time in a different way.😉 This time by tempting me.... But it´s still a warning... No, I can´t blame him, I know what I was doing when i was looking at new tarot decks and order a bunch of them! Hopefully they will arrive later today or tomorrow! Tuesday card: Knave of Pentacles. A young man is nocking on a big door, he´s holding a gold ornament in his right hand behind he´s back. A gift or a surprise? Maybe it´s my tarot decks that is coming?
Libra 58 Posted Friday at 12:09 AM Posted Friday at 12:09 AM Wednesday card: Queen of Pentacles. A content queen is sitting on her throne with lots of gold coins around here. The two dwarfs looks happy and content also. I shall be happy with what I have. Save my money and don´t spend them on things I don´t need. I really don´t feel much for this card. Thursday card: 4 in Swords. An blind man walks by a door. He´s using his stick to avoid not steeping or fall on something. The only thing I feel for this card is that I have to be careful for what I´m doing. I could fall and hurt myself badly. Friday card: King of Pentacles. The King is looking at his savings in a hidden security box. I shall again be careful with my money and save them for a rainy day. I don´t like and I don´t understand this cards. Maybe that I´m to tired and dull with this deck, so I don´t see or enjoy myself longer with it!
Libra 58 Posted Saturday at 11:17 PM Posted Saturday at 11:17 PM Saturday card: Knave of Chalices. A man is out in a dessert territory looking for water. I need to look for something new, that can nourish me. I don´t think this deck is right for me any longer, but I will stick to the end of this year as I already have told it! Sunday card: The Stars. A naked woman in a pond, she´s pouring out water from two jugs. I see the stars as some light for me in the distance. I just have to endure for a while longer. The water is still flowing and there will come new insights of things that will give me hope for the future. I noticed that this week I got Page, Queen and the King of Pentacles. Something with money and things that I own that I shall take more consideration to how I react to.
