Whisper Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I would love to know about your favourite oracle decks. Please, do share. Thank you. <3
Libra 58 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I have a lot of Oracle decks but have not used more than 1 - 2 of them. The other ones are just collecting dust! ;) The one I use at the moment and have done for some years is Doreen Virtues "Magical Unicorns". It feels that even though I have used it for years I'm not ready to put it away and start using a new one. So I guess that I count that one as my favourite, at least for now! :)

Flaxen Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I have a lot of oracles but some of my favourites are: Anubis Oracle Froud's Faeries and Heart of Faery Gods and Titans Goddesses and Sirens Druid Plant and Animal oracles
dancing_moon Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Vera Sibilla - I love the old-fashioned cartomancy vibe of this one and how it reads. :) Fairy Ring Oracle - this one's blunt and no-nonsense in a very grounding way. Eros Oracle - a surprisingly deep one on psychological stuff plus very sexy in a vintage way. ;)
Flaxen Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Vera Sibilla - I love the old-fashioned cartomancy vibe of this one and how it reads. :) I didn't think to include this style of deck - I have them filed under 'cartomancy' rather than a general oracle. In which case I would include the Lenormand and Kipper. Vera Sibilla looks interesting too. I keep meaning to add it to my collection.
Whisper Posted February 7, 2018 Author Posted February 7, 2018 I have a lot of oracles but some of my favourites are: Anubis Oracle Froud's Faeries and Heart of Faery Gods and Titans Goddesses and Sirens Druid Plant and Animal oracles I have Froud's Faeries and Heart of Faery, although I really love the Faeries best. I don't know the others. Would you be able to say just few things about each one and why these are among your favourites, Flaxen?

EmpyreanKnight Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Gods and Titans I have this one too, and it's my fave
Jewel Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Hands down my favorite is The Faeries Oracle (Brain Froud). Others I have and really like are: - Dragonfae Oracle - Fairy Ring Oracle - Way of the Horse - Heart of Faerie Oracle I also have quite a few animal oracles that I like.
Whisper Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 Hands down my favorite is The Faeries Oracle (Brain Froud). Others I have and really like are: - Dragonfae Oracle - Fairy Ring Oracle - Way of the Horse - Heart of Faerie Oracle I also have quite a few animal oracles that I like. The Way of the Horse looks lovely!!! What do you read it for and how do you interact with this oracle, Jewel?
Raggydoll Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I have very few oracle decks (compared to tarot decks) and these are the ones I have: Dreamtime reading cards Saltwater reading cards Mother Mary oracle Pythia Botanica Oracle Creatures of the Moon Oracle The Green Wheel Oracle I like nature based ones! (Fairies, angels and unicorns are generally not my thing). I like it when oracle decks have multi purposes so that I can use them both as oracles, for rituals, for contemplation and for learning (about the moon, the wheel of the year, about flowers and so on). Would like to add more decks to my collection but not until I have had the chance to work more with the ones I already have.

I, too, have few, but I'm looking to add to my collection, but really want decks that have good accompanying books and, like you, have multi purposes.
Jewel Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 The Way of the Horse looks lovely!!! What do you read it for and how do you interact with this oracle, Jewel? To be honest I have not used it in eons, and need to pull it out again. I primarily used it for personal healing and working through emotions. The deck, much like equine therapy, is about helping you with your emotional health. I have only used the deck for myself and to deal with personal issues and it really helped me get to a place of clam and deal with my emotions so I could think more clearly and work through the issues. I do not mean "fluffiness" stuff, but actually deal with the emotions. I should really pull this deck out again LOL.

The equine one looks lovely as does the Green Wheel Oracle. I,too, like oracles that help us get to a place of calm. :D Just don't want to buy "fluffy" oracles.

So far I have not been using this deck as an Oracle, ‘just’ for rituals, contemplation and following the moon/wheel of the year. But I am planning on trying it as an Oracle and will let you know how that works out!

EmpyreanKnight Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I'm very positive that the Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Deck would be one of my favorites once it comes out next month. I can't wait. :D
DanielJUK Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 My Personal Top 3 in my collection so far:- - Earth Magic Oracle - I am not really so much of a fan of mass market oracles, especially ones that use religious, spiritual or cultural aspects and make it mainstream and some of the authors / publishers just release and release decks. So I came to this deck really as a skeptic but I love it! I once did a reading exchange on AT with so many people taking part and I used 3 cards in each reading and every reading was good! This is my go to deck for a good oracle reading. However on AT I used to rave about this deck a lot and I know Glass Owl bought it because of me and then hated it! Sorry Owl! ;D I guess we are all different in what we like. But for me, it's the best of the mass produced mainstream oracles by the big oracle publishers. - A'ha Oracle - Linnie on AT made this deck years ago and sells it from her own website. All the images and cards came to her in dreams! She is around some of the forums still yay and surprised me on my instagram the other day saying hi! I didn't really know her as a friend when I bought it but it really surprised me and it's really different to my other oracles. The cards are black with either a black and white or full colour Mandalas, each is a circle on the card. When she was creating it, some ended up with colour and some not and that sounds so weird but it really works! This is my fave oracle for spiritual type readings. You can look at the picture and read it totally intuitvely or look up the number of the card in a book for a load of information about it and it's meaning. - Psycards - The Psycards were a big thing before I came to divination and have been published since 1982 and sold via a basic mail order service from London! They are a cross between tarot and an oracle I think but don't have suits like say the Osho Zen (I would also say it's in the middle of both areas) but are in groupings. They are hugely psychological and use Jungian influences and archetypes. They have given me really good readings, especially in topics about finding meaning or working things out. However I have an interest in psychology and Jung so it fits my philosophy. The cards are medieval in style. I cannot choose just one fave oracle ;D
Jewel Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Daniel, I really like the Earth Magic Oracle as well. I used it quite a bit this weekend for myself and I found it to be very honest.
Whisper Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 The Earth Magic Oracle looks good, Daniel. Glad to hear it gives good readings. It reminds me of one that I'm thinking of getting, the Earth Wisdom Oracle that looks beautiful and seems to be in the same vein:
Jewel Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Shivani[/member] you are a hopeless enabler! >:D I am really wanting that deck you keep showing.
Whisper Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 Shivani[/member] you are a hopeless enabler! >:D I am really wanting that deck you keep showing. g I'm sorry, my dear. Just couldn't resist it and ordered it. Now, I promise that after the ones I just recently ordered, I'm going to wait until December for the True Black. ;D
