Bodhiseed Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I'm in with the Tabula Mundi Tarot paired with the Words of the Brehon Oracle - thank you Fire cat! The mental flexibility of the wise man permits him to keep an open mind and enables him to readjust himself whenever it becomes necessary for a change. —Malcolm X The Two of Swords in the Thoth tradition represent a peace gain through mental flexibility. Like the moon, we need to be able to change our ideas when necessary. Cognitive elasticity enables us to enhance our problem solving, regulate our emotions, and improve our relationships because we see other viewpoints. The angry man, jealous man and miser in the Brehon card are ridiculed because they are trying to control what they can't and lose the power they have. The angry man loses control to his emotions (which now control him); the jealous man loses the ability to fully appreciate and enjoy what he has; the miser becomes what he fears - functionally destitute - because he refuses to use his resources. If we can master our attitudes, then we can master change.
Mi-Shell Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Hi Everyone! I have not been here for a while - we were travelling.... My DotW today is the beautiful Oriens Tarot, again an all Animal, no Humans The cards are very sturdy, the images al on black background, no borders. Images can be seen here: https://orienstarot.ambisunart.com/minor-arcanas/ My favourite is the beautiful Ace of Wands ♥
Mi-Shell Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Card of the Day: - Ace of Wands - Dragonfly The Ace of Wands for me is a symbol for renewed creativity and action. Dragonfly as an ambassador for this tells me to be energetic , be motivated, to take advantage of that existing potential and let it help me to proceed on all my nessessary tasks and then also have enough "in the tank" to truely enjoy the many gifts of this still early spring.
Rachelcat Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Hi, everyone! Good to see a good group here! This week will be Spirit Keeper’s Tarot. I have the Revelation Edition second printing, Order of the Warriors. I got it back in 2023 and never used it until now. At that time I was feeling overwhelmed with life, and the deck seemed so full of, well, everything! that I didn’t feel able to work with it. I’m in a better intellectual place now, and I see that it’s a creative tour de force built on a Golden Dawn scaffolding. (I’m also planning on making this the first in a series of RWS and Golden Dawn decks of the week.) I won’t go into all the unique attributes of the deck here, but here are a few: As I said, it has a Golden Dawn framework (astrological and kabalistic). There are three fools. All the cards have additional titles. All the cards have I Ching trigrams. In the “original” and booklet order, courts come between the threes and fours, making the minors two groups of seven: Ace, two, three, archangel (king), shield (queen), shining one (knight), and herald (page); and four through ten (all times the four suits, of course). Suits are Scepters, Chalices, Swords, and Orbs. Ok, I think that’s enough description for now. I can get into the specific cards as I go. Interview should be interesting! What is your most important characteristic? The Emperor, Commander of Intellections Not sure why it’s “intellections.” Usually the Emperor is more about force or leadership, not thought leadership. I see the usual orb. His scepter is an ankh that is a sistrum. A staff is along the top of his throne. The Ark of the Covenant is behind him, with an eagle. The deck is indeed a thought leader. What is your strength? The Outlaw, Sacrifice and Redemption Mottos: Do ut des means I give so you can give; Coram deo means in the presence of god. The strength of the deck is that it is different in order to give a different idea of tarot. But it waits quietly by until we decide to engage with it. That’s what happened with me! Your weakness? The Hierophant, Master of the Arcanes Too many majors, but I did shuffle . . . Elephants on hierophant. Bull and pentacle for Taurus. It’s too accepting of tradition after all. So the strength and weakness are opposites! What can you teach me? Eight of Orbs, The Journeyman Had 8 Coins in the last reading. It can teach me to keep working on my tarot studies. I’m not a master yet! How can I learn it? The Scarlet Shield, Sanctum of the Valiant (queen of swords) I can learn to keep working by being bold and charging forward with my ideas. My intellectual creations are my protection. What will be the outcome of our work together? Ten of Chalices, The Joyous One A successful civilization is one where the people how live in it are happy. Our work will be a joyous exploration of the deck and its ideas, and an inspiration for me to continue working on mine.
