SO THERE :D But sure, I shall use it. What else is it for ? Well, as I am sure you know, many people are mainly collectors and rarely reads with their cards. That’s why I asked. I was curious to find out if this is a deck that attracts more collectors than readers. But I do get why you are upset about the gilding. It was not part of the original vision and make the deck less ‘authentic’. I have decided to trust that Lo Scarabeo won’t make it look obscene. But if that is the case, then I’ll probably trade or sell it later on. Not the end of the universe for me, but I respect that this might be a much bigger deal for other people since it does involve a historical object and a lot of money.

I recently did and it peaked my Visconti-tarot interest even more <3 I haven’t read that book. Sounds right up my street - thank you. [emoji3]

HOWERER: Lo sarabeo said clearly that this kickstarter campaign will be the only occasion they are going to sell this deck. That might convince people who aren't quite sure to get their copy now. Those who are already backers, might extend their pledge to a double deck, even more so when you plan to actually use the deck. I am sure that even the locked 45 000 strech goal will be unlocked an reached soon.

I obviously didn't pay close enough attention to the part where it won't be available outside of this Kickstarter. ;D I suppose a part of me thinks if it did well enough, I could see them changing their minds and deciding to bring it out for mainstream production...I've seen that time and time again with other limited edition things, and why not if it's bringing in the dollars? Maybe they'll make one without the gilded edges, and then gregory[/member] will be happy ;) That'd be a win/win situation :hug:

That does not mean they won’t make, let’s say, a smaller version of this deck and sell it mainstream. Or some other changes, like a less luxurious card stock, or different packaging. It really is down to how one interpret those promises. I just think there are many loop holes that they might decide to use. But I hope they don’t. It just undermines any future Kickstarter campaigns and I think they are well aware of that. And by the way, I hardly ever buy back up copies of decks because I much rather spend that money on another, new to me, deck. But I do make exceptions whenever I think I actually might need a backup and I know that it will be really hard to acquire one later. Like for instance, when I had the chance to buy a backup of Stella’s tarot at a really great price when it just had been taken out of print. It is one of my absolute favorites and I use it even more now (I even use my back up copy as well)

I wonder when they will reveal the 45.000€ stretch goal. Things are moving ahead so quickly now that I have no doubt that we will have ourselves a deck with gilded edges, like it or not. Hopefully it will look nice and not over the top!
