A little late to the party!

Hi all!

Ā

I am a little late to the party here!Ā  I somehow completely glazed over the introduction thread šŸ˜‚. I’m Adora. I’m a lover of pretty much all things occult. I’m a bit of a book worm and study nerd. I feel like you can never o ow too much about a subject!Ā  I try to always continue to learn and grow myself. I have always been drawn to the occult. Especially tarot cards, even at a very young age. I was brought up by a ā€œtraditionalā€ family whom was very against all of these things. Still, they kept coming back to my path. For my fifteenth birthday a friend bought me a tarot set. It was the ray buckland romani deck I believe it was called. I have been dabbling ever since. So, reading on and off for just over 20 years now. I’m by no means a master. I still think I’m learning and growing and that’s why I’m here. You all have been so welcoming and kind so far. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and exploring the deep dark depths of tarot.

Hey you! I've been really enjoying your posts and thoughts around the forum, so I'm really glad you found us! It's great that you were about to find your passion for tarot despite it being against your upbringing.

Well, I’m pretty new so I didn’t notice the ā€œlateness,ā€ hah. Anyhoo, hello! [emoji112]My family was also against these things though ironically my mothers an extremely talented psychic and medium, she just tried to ignore it most of her life, but now that she’s starting to embrace it, she doesn’t look badly upon tarot fortunately. The witchy stuff; however, she’s slowly getting accustomed to. [emoji23]

What a similarity!Ā  I think my mom has a gift too. I wouldn’t call her extremely talented. But she’s been know to cry days before someone passes away and say things like ā€œI can smell her perfume. And I just miss her so muchā€. I hope some day like your mom she starts to embrace it too!

that’s interesting! I’ve noticed smell plays a big part in the ā€œsixth senseā€ sometimes. My mother picked up on someone who had already passed, for a multitude of hints including smell. For instance she woke me up from the dead of sleep as a teenager yelling at me because she thought I’d been drinking and wreaked of alcohol. I had not. Turns out this was one of the many signs for the man she picked up on(besides hearing his actual name), he was an alcoholic. [emoji1744]ā€[emoji3601]

I find this so interesting!Ā  I never really thought about it before. But very similar things have happened with he smelling cigarette smoke. My dad is a total skeptic and would always tease us and says ā€œsmelling strange this is a sign you’re going to have a stroke, you two should be careful!ā€Ā  It is really interesting to think though that something so small as smelling cigarette smoke, alcohol or perfume can be a connection to the other side no wonder how many experiences I have disregarded as me being crazy haha!
