Arch Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Arch[/member] you are welcome!:) just decide for yourself if you wish some oracle in topic you llke i.e cats, nature, animals, affirmation etc (& there is plenty to explore & suggest!) Yeah there are tons, I just browse decks by opening up some of the images, if I don't like it immediately visually, I forget about them. I give each deck about a second to make an impression, if they do, I look closer, most fail on being pretty but shallow though. There are probably some of those decks that deserve a second chance, but they will have to be recommended to me specifically for some redeemable trait. I have clow cards as well!:) & like guidebook!:) you can still find it on e bay!:) but be warned card size is Large & no rounded corners & card stock is glossy & probably worst i've ever had!x,x lol so you may wish to check out version someone made?:) ETA; find it! https://www.printerstudio.com/sell/Badahori I don't have these but imo ps have good cardstock & this size is better!:) ETA; just to add another interesting Lenormand Oracle Magic expanded deck!:D https://www.etsy.com/listing/232234231/mystical-oracle-breath-of-the-night downside; worst english (google) translation guidebook ever!:) lol Thanks, just finished with the cards on aeclectic, will take a look at those links as well! :)

DanielJUK Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 It's hard to give a recommendation of a beginners deck because it's really subjective. You are much better off with going for a theme or style that matches your taste and interests. They all tend to be pretty easy to just pick up and use, but some have highly complicated systems to use them that you have to learn, you can check this in the reviews. 2dogs[/member] was right about being careful about some of the most popular sellers. A lot of oracles are made by the big publishing houses and churn them out several times a year with new decks and they tend to be a little bland with books of meanings for the cards that are difficult to relate to. I am always weary of mass produced versions, they have tended to be my most disappointing buys apart from some exceptions. They are produced only to make sales, not for a creative or self help purpose. My best buys have been oracles which are highly themed and do the theme well! A lot of artists produce small quantities of decks that are not mass sold or produced, you get them from small websites or their own and they can be good! Go with a theme you are interested in and you cannot go wrong! The "bland" decks I warned about, tend to be very general without covering one area, so you can watch out for them.
ashwsh Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 Thank you 2dogs[/member] DanielJUK[/member] Arch[/member] reall[/member] I’m an Indian so nothing like an Indian deck for me :-) On Saturn Celeste[/member] inputs I picked ‘whispers of Ganesha’. I love the artwork..it’s so great. Thank you all for taking out time and giving your inputs
2dogs Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Good idea, hopefully your existing knowledge will help you get the most from the deck. The monthly Oracles exchange group is good if you want to practice with someone else .
Jewel Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Well I cannot resist and put a pitch in for The Faeries Oracle by Brian Froud. I have lots of Tarot and Oracle decks - and I am more a Tarot than Oracle person - but the Faeries Oracle is something really really special. Magical, much more than a deck of cards they are an experience. Not only is the system sound, the book is EXCELLENT! The first section of the book is all about connecting and getting to know the deck before you start reading any of the card descriptions. It has exercises, some that seem silly (but do them anyway), and some that are a little more academic in nature and teach you how to really look at those cards. Those faeries come alive and are wonderful guides and friends. I have had my copy since the deck was released and still carry it around with me in my purse just because I love having them close. I could carry on about this deck for hours. The key to understand with that deck is that they are not human, they are fae. They are not into this light or dark thing, they are who they are meant to be. They do not abide by human standards or preconceived notions. They are all very special in their own way.
solarscorp Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Some that I plan on getting (I'm also a beginner) are: work your light gaia oracle goddess guidance to name a few. You can youtube search your question and you will be able to see them and see which ones you connect to.
