Bookworm Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Shiva I and Jewel, I think you can jump in at any point you wish! I sort of envisioning myself doing this over and over again with different decks until the end of time. Jewel, I really am enjoying the Fairytale. And it’s a great deck for this — but I’m afraid there are too many others that would be also. Please come join us.

Hedera Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Trogon, thank you so much for starting this! I think I might try to jump in - although I might wait a few weeks until we get to the minors. Since most books, courses etc start with the majors, I've done those oodles of times. But since I tend to abandon studies etc quite quickly, I often don't make it to the minors (and sometimes not even all the way through the majors....). Besides, over the years I've started to find the minors more interesting than the majors. ;) And I will need a few weeks to decide on a deck to use! :D Maybe the Mythic? The Haindl? The Margarethe Peterson? The Dreaming Way? Soooo many options!

I will pick a deck tonight :) I think I may use the Green Witch Tarot which I got this Christmas, but I have two other decks coming in today so want to look through them first before deciding for sure.
Whisper Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Am I the only one who is travelling through this week (January 21) and the Sun? Please come and join me.
Bookworm Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Hi Shivani, Those are beautiful Suns. I just wanted to mention that those of us who have been doing the 78 Weeks project are working with just one -- or in some cases -- two deck(s). I was wondering if you were interested in posting your favorite card images in the Card Favorites section here: https://www.thetarotforum.com/card-studies/ Bookworm
Jewel Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 I will be jumping in on The Hermit card, and try to play some catch up (a couple of cards a week instead of one) until I catch up to the group, with the exception of next week because I will not have time to work on this then. But I will start my catching up after that. I am jumping in there, because I have been working with Wizards Tarot (following the course in the companion) since last September and have already done the work on the Apprentice (Fool) through Strength, so though not posted I have done the work.

Just thought I would try working with the ones I posted, but will work work with only one deck, then: The Journey into Egypt one.
Bookworm Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 No need to apologize, Shivani! I'm really happy you'll be joining us. :)
Bookworm Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I am very excited to say that I have finished the Majors for my deck. I am off tomorrow for a week's vacation. When I come back, I'll be ready to start the Wands. It's really a great exercise. You might want to join in. :)
Jewel Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I was unable to work with my card this week due to business meetings and all, so I will get back on track with the Justice (XI in my deck) next week. Hopefully I can start doing 2 a week to catch up some.

Hemera Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I have also now finished the Majors. I feel I need a short break before moving on to the Minors. I have to figure out how to go through those Minors. I had that Sally Nichols book (Jung and Tarot) for the Majors but that was much less helpful than I had anticipated. She was always referring to the traditional Marseilles/RWS images but my deck (Everyday Witch) is of course very different from them. I have an idea for the Courts from a book by Mary Greer where you find corresponding animals, plants, music, colors etc. for each Court card. I think it might be fun as well as educational. I might even have to start with the Courts.
Hemera Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Anybody here?? [...ooo-ooo...(howling)...] It has been awfully quiet in these halls lately. :-\ Just wondering if it's okay to continue with the Courts? I found some nice ideas in "Understanding the Tarot Courts" by Mary K. Greer and I'm almost ready to post the Everyday Witch Tarot Cups now.
Bookworm Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Please do, Hemera! I look forward to your posts. I'm planning to start in with the Wands next week
Hemera Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Thanks Bookworm! Nice to see you back here <3 Looking forward to your Wands! Okay, let's see..Here goes. [moving over to the Page of Cups thread]
Jewel Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I'm here too, but got myself distracted with other things. Will get back to posting next week with my Justice card.

Hemera, you inspired me to go my own way a little with the Minors. I think I'm going to do them by number, rather than suit. So, all the Aces, then the Twos, etc. I'm hoping that might give me more insight than going suit by suit. I'm also going to try adding a section from 78 Degrees of Wisdom to each card, to add a little more depth.
Trogon Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 First off; I apologize if anybody felt like I've left them hanging in the study group. The end of 2017 and the start of 2018 have been kind of stressful for me and, unfortunately my participation here has suffered. But I am picking back up and will be posting my study of the Haindl Tarot Hermit next week. (I'm pretty sure that's where I left off.) Next; Welcome Shivani and Jewel and anybody else who has joined the study group while I've been distracted. I'm very glad to have you with us and I look forward to your posts. Finally; Huge thanks to Bookworm for jumping in, when I so mysteriously disappeared, and making people feel welcome and helping out when you saw the need. It is very appreciated.
Bookworm Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 I'm so sorry you've had such a rough time of it, Trogon. I'm happy to see that you're back and posting again. No thanks needed for anything I did. I'm sure everyone is happy you're back. :)

Whisper Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Trogon[/member] I thought I had not seen you around for a while, Trogon. Sorry to hear about things not going so well. I know exactly what that feels like, having a few challenges of my own to face. Very glad to see you back with us, my dear. <3
Jewel Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Welcome back Trogon. I am working on the Hanged Man and dragging my feet around here so perhaps you and I will be on the same card soon ;D. I need to post my Justice card stuff too .... I swear I really do want to do this LOL.
Hemera Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I'm still here! I got a bit distracted for a while since we have been traveling. But I'm back now and studying my lovely deck(s) again. I'll be posting more about the Everyday Witch soon. Oh, and so nice to see you've been keeping the fort up Bookworm! <3 I'll be joining you shortly..
