Eric13 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 I'm sure someone else has this deck, but I've never noticed anyone using it...
gregory Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Ah. Got that; have used it many years ago, but it wasn't one that spoke very loudly to me. My readings with that were all on AT; I've not used many of my decks here at all yet.
Eric13 Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Well it did pass my deck interview with flying colors.
Raggydoll Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 Just now, Eric said: Well it did pass my deck interview with flying colors. Cool. Congratulations on your purchase!

It is on my 2020 list of decks to use for my Deck of the Month project so I will be using it later on this year. I have the first edition of deck/book set, the packaging was amazing for that edition. I have to say I have not used it in all the years I have had it because it is not one that has really called out to me (got it in a trade), but I have always planned on using it at some point to experience it as I am a huge Baba Studios/MRP fan and use and love all their other decks ... Especially The Alice! 😍 They make amazing decks and super good quality to boot! My motto is you cannot go wrong with a Baba Studios/MRP deck 😊 I did not feel all that called to the Fantastic Menagerie either, but when I used it for 21 Ways to Read a Tarot card I ended up absolutely loving the deck and it is has been one of my favorites ever since. If I could only get my hands on the 3rd edition Victorian Romantic I would be swooning with delight. I have the Gold Edition which I love, but the cold stamping they do now is incredible and I can only imagine how much I would enjoy it. Edited January 16, 2020 by Jewel
Eric13 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 They do make good decks. I have the Bohemian deck also. I probably won't use it until Sunday when I do my own weekly reading, but it passed my deck interview with flying colors!

Eric13 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I'm using the Prague deck now for my regular readings. To me it reads as good as any. I've put both Death cards in the deck but just use the traditional one Sun card with the baby. I did a reading for just myself believe it or not about if I should buy a watch, three card spread, very shuffled. Both Death cards came up and the 4 of Pentacles. I'm not buying a watch.
gregory Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I just bought a deck. http://www.helenivory.co.uk/fools-world-tarot-publication/ Limited edition. I just got email with a refund as they had sold out... Does that count as a purchase ?

gregory Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Oh. OK. I shall keep trying to find a copy, though ! Because now I have been refunded I am annoyed (If it had been out of stock in the FIRST place I'd have been OK about it; it's the so near and yet so far thing.).

Eric13 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I was going to say yes because there was intent.
katrinka Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 "Purchase", by definition, means you get goods. Not a refund. Intent by itself is just a thought. Often fleeting. The Prague is a wonderful deck though. I have the one in the wood box. It's the only oversized Tarot I ever purchased (unless you count that awful Trapper Keeper glittery Wirth that I bought when it was the only not-redrawn Wirth available) and it's extremely awkward to riffle, but it's still a pleasure to use. And the cold stamping is just what the doctor ordered for this deck:
Decan Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 (edited) OH you have the oversized Tarot of Prague!! The Prague is one of my favorite decks, and the cold stamping gives a stunning effect on this one! I just have the standard edition though because to use big cards isn't easy, but concerning the Prague it could be an exception I recognize it. It has its own presence and is very artistic (and chic). Well, just my opinion as always! 🙂 Edited January 23, 2020 by Decan

It's easier to handle and I do use it quite a bit, but kind of regretted not getting the wood box one. So I made sure to get the larger Prague. And yikes - I'd completely forgotten the monochrome Mythical Creatures! That one is oversized, too. Though not nearly as impressive looking as the Prague!
Decan Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 (edited) Yeah! But I suspect that the oversized colored and cold stamping Mythical Creatures will be Fabulous! And already out of stock!! Edited January 23, 2020 by Decan
katrinka Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Yes, but the site says that when the deck is published (soon!) there will be another 50 large format decks available. 😈

The Devil card in this deck is really perfect with its aspect of dangerous temptation and all, I can already feel its energy 🤣 @Eric Did you buy the book with your Prague? It allows to explore its cultural aspect, I love that!
Eric13 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 @Decan I did get the third edition, metalic overlay cards, great quality, but I didn't get the large size that comes in the wooden box. These are the standard size. I didn't think of getting the companion book, but the cards aren't cheap! So maybe someday. I'm pretty confident with my readings, I think they got the essence down real good or I wouldn't have bought these. I have actually been searching for several months and even watching these for a brand new deck. May still pick up a vintage Oracle deck and that will be it for the year. Really, it will be.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 my first deck arrival of 2020. Magical Dogs Tarot, I'm quite pleased with it, not cheesy, was a bit worried about that, as many animal decks are anthropomorphized which makes me shudder. It was published by Llewellyn so is available everywhere, but I ordered it from the Mueller's Etsy shop, book signed, got to pick my own tin, with the Moon card of course. 🙂 Life is good. https://www.etsy.com/market/magical_dogs_tarot
