I missed out on a cool ancient egypt inspired deck 😞 The Dream of Nile tarot.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dreamvisiontarot/dream-of-nile-tarot-golden-horus-edition

I’ve been casually on the lookout for an ancient egyptian mythology inspired deck since two or three years into starting tarot but never found quite the right deck. I saw this one on a youtube video (the previous edition) and they mentioned the new one’s kickstarter. But the video was 2 months old. This is what I get for falling out of the loop with tarot!

Hopefully she makes another edition. It might be a while though since she has an Alice in Wonderland tarot kickstarter launching soon.

Well…I’m supposed to be studying the thoth anyway right now. I finished the majors in the DuQuette book a few months ago and fell off. Imma get back on that. I signed up for the newsletter anyway.

minor correction

Just backed the Sacred Spring Tarot. 'Sacred Spring' is a translation of the name of the publication printed by the Vienna Secession movement artists that inspired this deck. They included Klimt and Moser, who were in turn influenced by Art Nouveau.

I have a weak spot not only for this art style but for minors that lie somewhere in the middle between pips and fully illustrated.

The artist fulfilled several past Kickstarters, including The Cards Drawn Tarot, which was poker sized.  Sacred Spring Tarot is tarot sized. (The artist is in the US, but for customs purposes, I'm not sure whether the decks will be shipped from there or directly from a printer's.)

I deliberated over backing this deck for some time... I have Emma Zhang's first creation, the Dream Vision Tarot, which I love, and like you I'm always on the lookout for a deck inspired by Ancient Egypt. However, I realised that I didn't love the minors enough to make the investment so ultimately decided to let it go. They just didn't seem to have the same depth as the Dream Vision Tarot does.

I'm going to back this deck as well, I think it's gorgeous. I also love that the creator made a greyhound themed deck; I wouldn't use it myself but greyhounds (and sighthounds in general) do have a special place in my heart and I always appreciate it when people raise awareness of them!

I'd better get my skates on and back it!

For anyone who might be interested in the 200 card oracle deck, School of the Heart, based on the 17th century lottery book emblems, it funded already and is cheapest in the first 24 hours. It posted 9 hours ago, so time yet. (There's also a cheaper 50 card version of the deck.)

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. That's right up my alley!

What a pitty that one of the stretch goals is coloured edges. I could certainly do without.

I hadn't seen that. I prefer it plain too.

Thank you, @Rose Lalonde for posting about the School of the Heart!  I just backed it.  Regular early bird price is still available.  I was falling asleep last night and thought "Do I really want a 200-card deck?  Of course!"  That clinched it!

@Rose Lalonde, is just the 50 card deck available?

I believe so. It's called the Selected Emblems Companion Deck ($40). Now that I've pledged I don't see any of the pledge buttons, but it's still listed as a reward there, so should be available.

yeah as a non-backer, it's one of the pledge options down the side, the 50 card deck.

That Kickstarter is everywhere, the creators took out social media ads all over the place! I see the deck as a sponsored post about twice a day at the moment. Good marketing 🙂

Joseph Stretch's Stretch Tarot is ten years old! I cannot believe it. It came out in 2016, when he was 18, he started making it at 16 years old.

During July, he has as Kickstarter for a new tenth anniversary edition.

This is a remastered version with changes and sometimes new artwork....

  • 80 cards, standard 78 + alternative Magician and Wheel of Fortune

  • Restored original artwork (all by hand or digitally with no use of AI for the entire project)

  • Remade cards due to damages or artistic vision (The Star, Ace of Pentacles, II of Pentacles, VIII of Pentacles, X of Wands)

  • Larger card size to showcase greater detail (89mm x 146mm)

  • Corrected bleed and printing format to capture lost edges and borders

  • Reformatted card titles for improved clarity and consistency

  • A high-quality, two-part box design

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jestretch/the-stretch-tarot-remastered

Ends on the 31st July, already fully funded and working towards stretch goals (there could be 90 cards in the deck).

I am thinking about it at the moment. I own the original stretch tarot and some other stretch decks and love his collages. They are also so inclusive of all people.

Can I justify another one? I will probably be pledging to it by the end of July 😂

On a tight budget, but I was able to back the smaller School of the Heart (50 cards) companion deck!

I am excited about this project, and I am really hoping this will be my very first Etteilla deck. However, it is going to be a close race to the finish line, and the project needs our help to reach its funding goal:

👉 Etteilla: Fortunes and Adventures of the Arcana on Kickstarter

The campaign runs until October 2, 2026. It might be difficult to hit the pledge goal without some extra community support, so every backer or share makes a huge difference right now.

If you want to see the cards in action, The Hermit's Cave has done a fantastic flip-through of an advanced prototype here:

I really hope some of you find this project as beautiful and intriguing as I do. Let's help make this deck a reality! 🙏

I follow Lise Abbadie since quite some time and now the date for her Kickstarter campaign is set: 1 October.
Le Tarot de la Grande Ourse.

I backed the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy tarot a few weeks ago. I don’t think I’ve backed a tarot deck before, just a set of playing cards. It’ll be a year before it’s fulfilled though. I read the series in high school and it was really impactful, and watched the movie. I decided to order the book set to read in the meanwhile, though it’ll be a while before I get to it since I’m juggling a bunch of projects.

(Here’s the link to the page if anyone wants to follow it. I had backed it with a few hours left in the campaign. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/prodigal-ent/the-hitchhikers-guide-to-the-galaxy-tarot-cards )

Seems to be all gone bubble_bcry

Ooh, I wonder if the Ameglian cow will be on there "would you like to try my rump?" and which card - probably hanged man?

I loved that series when I was a kid, but don't really like the look of the cards or the text. Hope you'll share some with us when it arrives.

I didn't back the campaign for the same reason.

I’ll make sure to share the cards when they arrive. Yeah sorry for not sharing the kickstarter earlier, I only found out about it with like four hours to spare at work 😭

To be honest, I wasn’t 100% feeling the art and look either but we’ll see how I feel in real life. I kept trying to zoom in and get a better look but the time crunch made me make the decision.

Le Tarot de la Grande Ourse.

I have been waiting on this one (and the Vonnart deck) for sooooo loooong as well! Very glad to see it live and funding quickly.

Spacious Tarot is doing a reprint as well, the campaign is over but they'll no doubt get extras so for anyone who missed it first time and was wanting it, that's going to be available.

Fantasy Garden, the pen-drawn deck from Ukraine, is also getting a second version; I don't especially need another copy but I like to support Ukrainian artists when I can, so I'll likely gift the deck. A lovely RWS in a traditional media if that's of interest to anyone. Looks like the campaign is done but you can pre-order via Etsy.
