AeonHorus Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 20 ~ Harvest:~ The time is neigh to reap the full rewards and bring in the fruits of your labours, before its time to start all over. The message of death and rebirth reverberates and echoes loud and clear in this penultimate stop off on our journey of the fool. A man stands before us with a tankard of mead and a table positively overflowing with the fruits, vegetables and a demijohn of wine. There are two industrious little Elven folk in amongst the fruits and vegetables which would show that the hard work is done but also a reminder that there will be more work to come in time. His wife in the doorway with a tray full of more produce and there is also game hanging in the porch showing that the cycles of life and death are forever present and always hanging on a fine balance. Fennel is growing in a barrow to the right hand side of the lady which offers protection from evil spirits and on Midsummer's Eve it was generally hung over doorways with other magickal herbs such as St. John's wort, it was also said that keyholes blocked with fennel seeds prevented entry to ghosts. At the front of the cottage there is a goat nibbling at the weeds between the cobbles on the garden path, thus symbolising nurturing, vitality, sacrifice, provision and guardianship.
Marigold Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 So this card "Harvest" is the equivalent of Judgement in the usual Tarot decks ? In that case, is this really a Tarot deck or just a tarot inspired ? I assume the latter. When does a Tarot deck shift from being a Tarot to an oracle ?
AeonHorus Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 Harvest / Judgement, just names right ? I think that the meaning behind remains the same. After the harvest we seed again.... Rebirth In my humble opinion the Tarot system has the magors 22 in all and 4 suits representing fire, water, air and earth, and a set of courts. Is that not right ? That's tarot. Oracles are never a set number nor a set system. I have about 4 or 5 oracles and each one different lol. Seems Ann Moura has really ruffled a few feathers in the tarot community. 😂 Let me disclose this then, I am neither defending nor contesting her on this deck or its artwork. I simply like it and I wanted to study it as I also felt the same when I first saw it, but after I had bought it, it grew on me and now it is one of my favourite decks to read with....
Marigold Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 (edited) Yes, one seeds again. But after the harvest. The harvest is not Judgement. It's the fruit of our labours. Also is Judgement the card of Rebirth or Resurrection ? Is not rather the Death card that is the card of Rebirth and Judgement the Resurrection ? Because if Judgement is rebirth, then where does Death fit in? Edited January 24, 2020 by Marigold
AeonHorus Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 (edited) Why don't we discuss that here seeing as this is the Death card in this deck 🙂 Death isn't Rebirth, Rebirth is Judgement, Death to my understanding is more Transformation, but as I say check the link @Marigold and we can go into more depth there. If you would be so kind 🙂 Edited January 24, 2020 by AeonHorus
