Jungian Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Just performed a career spread, with the final outcome being the Hanged Man, and realized that the 9 of cups was left in the box. I indeed felt that something was missing in this spread as the results were not making sense completely. When I realized that the card was missing I performed the spread again with the ace of cups in the final outcome (celtic cross). The second spread with all the cards working as a family was completely different. Do you have similar experiences? What would you do if one card was missing without knowing?
gregory Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 I always assume that whatever makes the tarot work knew the card was left out and adjusted accordingly.

gregory Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Oh that too. Ask one ; get an answer. Ask twice and something out there decides you are taking the piss !

Guest Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Quote Do you have similar experiences? What would you do if one card was missing without knowing? It would really depend on my intuition. Most of the times I proceed with the reading anyway, but if something does truly feel off then I will redo the reading.
AeonHorus Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 If one card was missed then it was missed for a reason. Something was telling you that it wasn' t needed. Cause and effect , butterfly ripples an all that jazz! But this @Jungian.... On 2/19/2020 at 12:58 AM, Jungian said: and realized that the 9 of cups was left in the box confuses the hell out of me??? Don't you draw cards from the top of the deck one for each position as it turns ? How can one be left in a box? There are 10 cards in a celtic cross and 78 cards in a tarot deck ... So... How come only one left in the box?
Barleywine Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 (edited) Another interesting case of serendipity, kind of like jumpers (which I also ignore). Since I believe there are a couple of million possible permutations of 78 cards in a 10-card spread, having one left in the box isn't going to change things much. After all, if you don't try to put too fine a point on it and dig down too deeply into the minutiae, other cards can provide similar testimony. Although I don't like it when this happens, I don't let it bother me much. As we might say, "the truth will out." Edited March 4, 2020 by Barleywine
