Hi Guys

Not too sure if this is the right place for this but it is a very historical account of all types of playing cards.

It is (some of you may well have heard of it that I do not doubt)

"The Devils Picturebook"

and it is free to download, without any copyright issues (I think).

Anyway I think @katrinka and @gregory would have an interest in it maybe @Flaxen too. I know you guys love a little bit of history when it comes to the cards 😉

When I checked the link, it was a catalog with mugs, ashtrays, etc. ?  (Paul Huson's book isn't in the public domain, but I guess that's not really relevant, since this is something else.)

Yeah it starts with cups n mugs etc. Further into it has many cards etc.

Paul Huson's book

I never said it was Paul Husson's book did I ?

It's and auction house catalogue full of interesting exhibits.

Potter & Potter Auctions to be exact.

Just some interesting perusal material...

Ok. I got the wrong idea from "it is a very historical account of all types of playing cards" which sounded like Huson's book. No worries then!

Yes, the same-name title is a bit alarming, lol, but it's an auction catalog.
Thanks!

The Devil's Picturebook - the actual BOOK - is still under copyright, I'. sure.

How exciting! Yes, you can highlight the titles and Google search the books that are in public domain online --many in pdf --or, if one collects old books, such as myself, I may see a book that interests me and I'll look around to purchase the hard-copy somewhere. Right up my alley. Such fun!

What a fascinating selection of items! How I’d love to browse and see them all in person.

Thank you! Nowadays, I'm only buying historical decks, so I am very interested by this!
