VGimlet Posted February 29, 2020 Author Posted February 29, 2020 In Between Tarot again - my self=imposed rule is I have to read with a deck a minimum of 4 times before I can move on, and that didn't quite happen this week - but I'm starting to get caught up again finally. 😼
Bodhiseed Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Sheridan-Douglas paired with Pages of Shustah for me this week - thank you VG!
Mi-Shell Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 I have 2 longtime clients coming this Sunday. Their favorite deck for me to use is the Tarot of the Origins 🙂 So I will make that my deck of the week and also draw our Card for the Month for the Creative Tarot Circle from this deck.
Bodhiseed Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 This week I'll be using the Sheridan-Douglas Tarot, created by David Sheridan and Alfred Douglas and published by Sheridan Douglas Press. The oracle deck I'll be using is Pages of Shustah, created by Ann Manser and Cecil North and published by Shustah Inc. Today's draws are the Star and the Black Cat: We have to let go of the certainty people seem to love more than hope and know that we don’t know what’s going to happen. ~Rebecca Solnit When life is difficult for an extended period of time, we eventually feel flat - emotionally, physically and mentally. A break from this suffocating sameness is such a release that we may experience an immense sense of joy. The LWB for this deck describes the Star as a symbol of hope, a pause that gives us time to rest and get our bearings. But it's easy to trade hope for expectations, assumptions that our life will now follow the track of our preference. Rather than a sky full of possibilities, we narrow our multitude of choices down to a specific demand. Yet the Black Cat appears to remind us not to get so caught up in our fantasy world that we fail to see what is in the real one. As Jane Hirshfield said, "Awareness shows us the questions, the problems we might be able to solve and the questions that can’t be answered at all, and awareness makes the hand-holds and toe-holds appear as we traverse the cliff of our lives."

I saw on Amazon that they are expecting to release a new printing of the Tarot of the Origins (retitled the Primordial Tarot) in August. 😊
Amberjune Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 This week I will be working with the Hardy Tarot and the Forces Fauna + Flora Oracle, both by Colleen Hardy. Happy week everyone! We've had the first snow of the season, lasted approximately 2 hours!
Arania Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 We had snow 2 days ago, a LOT of snow... lasted about a day. I'll be looking at the Hanson-Roberts this week.

Bodhiseed Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 If they actually release the ToO in it's new form, it might make a good study deck for the in-depth study thread.🤔
53rdspirit Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Hello, I'm back...still need to keep working on The Playing Card Oracles. 😏 I'm only half way through the book as of yet.
Madame Squee Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Thank you for the thread, VG. 🌷🌷🌷 I'm in with Magnificent Earth Tarot this week. This is one of the decks I received for my birthday last month. I looked through the cards at that time, but I set it aside until a better time -- now! Today's cards: 5 of Stones (5 of Pentacles) ~ Spirit of Trees (King of Wands) ~ The Magician The message I'm receiving in the 5 of Stones is that I have fallen very low. The sense of isolation depicted in this card touches me. The abandoned crutches feel like giving up. The Spirit of Trees directs my attention to someone in my life who is working to uplift me in ways I never would have imagined could work -- like teaching me to play the accordion. This person is a classic King of Wands, to whom all of the keywords apply: magnanimous, persistent, expressive, vibrant. He really fills the central role in this spread. Finally, the Magician, falling next to the Spirit of Trees, creates an exciting burst of energy that tells me I will be able take charge of myself again, especially if I emulate the energy of the Spirit of Trees. I love everything about the Magnificent Earth Tarot. It's a beautiful production in every respect: selection of art; excellent printing; flexible, matte card stock; beautiful backs; gilded edges; sturdy box; concise, informative LWB; extra element cards (Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Union)!
Arania Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Oh,one more deck I'd want - and I have way more decks than any sane person can ever need. I found the Hanson-Roberts very literal and down to earth up to now. A no-nonsense deck for me.
tarot_cat Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Oh, I would like to do this! We just concentrate on a particular deck for the week? I'd like to do the HazelMoon's Hawaiian Tarot.
Bodhiseed Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Welcome, @tarot_cat! We don't really have any hard and fast rules, we just try to work with a deck or decks ( I use an oracle and a tarot deck) each week to get to know them better. We're pretty flexible in this group!
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Squee, you drew what you needed to know from your cards very well. Need to know is far more important than What will happen. welcome tarot cat! I have a paper list of my decks and I work my way through them one a week. Once they are all marked off, I re-inventory, print again, and start again.

And oldie and goodie, it puts a smile on my face every time I pick it up, a straight-forward, reliable reader for me as well! @Madame Squee The art in the Majestic Earth just takes my breath away. I've had some deep, wonderful, and generative readings with this deck. The Magician! Edited March 3, 2020 by Amberjune

Madame Squee Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 I drew two cards from the Magnificent Earth Tarot this morning: X. Whisper of Fortune and & of Trees. (See picture above.) Someone under assault will prevail today.

I have all my tarot decks and oracles in Libib, plus I just started a spreadsheet for what I learn doing deck interviews...I figure I'll just work my way through my decks using those. 🙂 Speaking of, I did a deck interview spread with my Hawaiian deck today. Looks like it's going to offer practical advice, with an emphasis on gentle resolutions over brute force. I really thought that this deck would be reserved for my personal use only and that I would wind up using the Everyday Witch deck for readings for friends, but I feel their respective interviews indicated the opposite-- the Hawaiian deck wants to advise people I care about and the Everyday Witch should be reserved for personal readings. Curious!
Mi-Shell Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Meanwhile I have drawn our card of the Month from the Tarot of the Origins - The Queen of Swords - or, as she is called in this deck - The Woman of Blood. . Since I am home alone for the next 2 weeks, I will have time to make something that gives her honour!
