As a reader, what sparks your intuition?

Featured Replies

Interesting... this got me thinking!

1.) What, if any, are the things you do (methods/rituals/set-ups, etc.) that help you access your intuition, or put you in the headspace to do so?

I suppose it's better if there is less chaos around me (ie mainly after my son has gone to bed these days). The decks I use are in a box with some crystals and clothes, so you could say there is a certain ritual element in taking them out, choosing a cloth and a deck and so on.

2.) What have you found to help you trust your intuition?

I don't think I think about it too much. Sometimes I get a really strong gut feeling as to what a card is there to say even if it goes completely against what would be the traditional meaning, in those cases I may examine why I feel that way.

3.) What kind of tarot decks or imagery do you feel you can more easily read intuitively?  And/or, conversely, what kind do you look at and say, "Nope, won't be able to read intuitively with this deck!"

Gut feeling. Sometimes I'm wrong, sometimes it changes over time so a deck that was good for me five years ago isn't now (Deviant Moon, Bohemian Gothic would be two examples), sometimes I go back to them (Dreampower Tarot, first deck I read intuitively, haven't used it in over a decade, gone back to it recently). The Greenwood has been pretty consistant for a long time, but it has been 'the one' for a long time as well.
