This is not really a tarot deck although one might use it as such. Actually, it's more like flash cards with kabbalistic information if you work with a deck that doesn't have them, and if you don't remember by heart the kabbalistic associations of each card. It's very matter-of-fact but I find the Hermetic Kabbalah Tarot visually more appealing. It presents the same information, but clearer and more elegant.

If you go through the cards one by one and keep your eyes on the glyph of the Tree, you travel down through each suit, and that's nice.

The transcription of the Hebrew letters is for American Hebrew speakers: bayth instead of bet, as Hebrew native speakers would say. Since the cards emphasize the German card titles, this is puzzling, especially since they call the Tree of Life Ätz ha Chaim instead of Etz ha Chayim. A bit inconsistent.

I'm glad I have it, though, since I'm a collector. I swapped it on a German tarot site with a very suspicious collector who wanted to know what I intend to do with it. It seems I answered her questions to her satisfaction, and I made a very pretty tarot bag for one of her decks in return for the deck. I confess that I haven't used it after I bought the Hermetic Kabbalah Tarot. If it should ever be reprinted, I guess they'd have to invest a bit in the aesthetics of the deck. It's very flat and basic.

Another good choice if you want to base your work with the tarot on the kabbalah: either the Tarot of the Sephiroth which illustrate each sephira and can be used like a puzzle to construct the whole tree, or the Hermetic Tarot.
