Thank you for the positive feedback! I'm still on my OMAD journey, and I have put up stickers of the five encouraging, empowering cards in my journal. I have started to move more. So mindmapping the tarot is a great tool to find practical solutions. The tarot is like a wise friend whose brains you can pick.

Deck of the Week Sign-up Thread, Week 468: Jun. 22 - Jun. 28
BrightEye replied to fire cat pickles's topic in Deck of the Week
Yesterday I drew these cards, without any particular question in mind, just what I needed to know. I included the base card this time (card at the bottom of the deck), which I read as the underlying energy of the reading. With the 8oP that I also drew the day before, my mind was obviously mulling over the work that lies ahead of me with the book. I have a tendency to panic when faced with a deadline. I’m keeping this in check at the moment by parcelling work into manageable units as I move forward. The 6oS seems to suggest just that. The 4oC I read as keeping my emotional equilibrium. -
This is great information. Plus, you have presented it so clearly and with a great example. Thank you. I particularly like the condensation part of the reading at the end.

Hello @ArtOfIntrospection welcome to the TT&M Family

It's very pleasant and unexpected to hear (well, or see) my native language here:). That is awesome! It warms my heart to know that my language is being introduced in other countries. I won't say much about the region — I value my privacy too much — but I'm from the Urals. Thoth deck really was a sharp start. No wonder it hits me so hard after readings and I feel really dizzy and tired. I'm too sensitive to it. But my deck loves me! I think, since I started with something difficult, everything else will come much easier later on. The readings come easily, and I'm amazed by the accuracy of the spreads, but I know for sure that due to my inexperience I'm obviously missing a lot, a lot of things. Well, I can see the big picture in my readings, which is already not bad for a start, I suppose. Thank you very much for the welcome!

Привет. Я не говорю по-русски, изучал язык всего один год в университете. Рад, что ты присоединился. Россия — большая страна. Из какого ты региона? That Thoth deck is quite the starter! But any deck will do. Welcome and enjoy yourself. Good people abound here.

Hello. I am a new member of this forum. I have been interested in tarot for some time, and recently I purchased my first deck. By the way, it's the Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot deck. I got staggering results from my very first reading. I'm excited. And I'm very interested in esotericism. I think that soon I will become more knowledgeable in this subject and will be confident in using it. I am Russian, so unfortunately, I may not understand everything, and my words may sound unclear and disjointed. I am also very into socionics, psychosophy, and the Enneagram. That's all I can say about myself. See you around!

Hi and welcome! Since you're into "shadow work," you might enjoy reading this article I recently found and thought very illuminating: https://www.rafaelkruger.com/how-to-do-shadow-work-demystifying-complexes/

First of all I love talking about things and listen to opinions of other people .Because they are all true to person holding them .so in my eyes there are no wrong or right opinions . I am stuck with my beliefs ?Yes ,because when I found my core -that everything is LL I really dont want to move forward ,I am at home .Only reason why I started Tarot and joined this forum was concept- Think about things and after that think about your thinking ,but now this base is completely shattered beyond any repair. If all thoughts are LL and lead to LL ,then why I think that Trump is sexiest human in history and my thinking about that ,just dont interest me anymore . Writing about all of this ? I don`t hold any shareable experience in field ,because I am complete beginner at Gnosticism and Tarot also dysgraphia don`t make writing easy . But I am super happy to talk about all of this to super smart person like you or anyone else .Thank you

Let’s Borrow the Magician’s Tools to Do Some Magic
Tanga commented on Cariabella's blog entry in Tarot for self-development and shadow work
Hmm thank you so much for this post @Cariabella. My natural default "inferior function" alla Mr. Yung would be Cups. However over the years that I have developed into the Solitary Wiccan that I am today - It is no longer my blind spot. And it is the door to my subconscious and my magickal realm - with still a great deal more to explore and learn for myself. I totally agree with this practice (as a modern day witch who does exactly this) : Putting the Tools to Work: A 3-Step Ritual Here is how we can intentionally lay these elements out on our own "table" during a practice: Sensation (Pentacles): Prep your space! Light incense, put on music, or chant to get your physical senses fully engaged. Thinking & Feeling (Swords & Cups): Hold your goal in mind while acknowledging that you currently lack it. Blending thought and emotion is the secret sauce of energy transmutation—the ultimate magical technique. Intuition (Wands): Shift your thinking to a state of absolute completion, acting as if the goal is already yours. Between 2 & 3, is where a witch asks for all spirits concerned (that hir believes in) to join hir and lend their assistance to arrive at the material reality of 3 (if getting to the results of 3 is for the good of all concerned). And these "daily strengthening exercises": 1) Alchemize Everyday Stress: Got yelled at by your boss? Don't waste that energy! Sit in your car or a quiet corner and use that frustration to fuel a completely different manifestation (like a new car). To anchor yourself, engage your senses internally: visualize a peaceful river, hear the birds, or replay the taste and smell of your morning coffee. = a mindfulness practice (a cornerstone of any type of meditative practice). 2) The Senses Check-In: While walking or working, take a moment to notice everything you can physically see, hear, feel, taste, and smell. Then, close your eyes and recreate those exact sensations internally in your mind's eye. = being mindful, and then practicing visualisation - a type of meditation. -
Yes, this is what I feel is the 'point', and really what I was trying to describe in a roundabout way! I'll preface by saying that I understand and respect how you describe your belief, but I'll counter by asking you to consider how we can sometimes have the tendency to have such certainty in our belief that we create a paradigm that we can't explore past. What follows is absolutely not a prod or a criticism, but rather a thought experiment for you, something to mull over - if reality is indeed ultimately love and light, what purpose does it serve for it to learn and experience through manifest consciousness if its already perfect? What if, reality is in fact formed by the journeys that make it up, it couldn't exist without experiences? Does that makes sense? A co creation maybe. The tapestry wouldn't exist without the threads being woven into it, an ocean wouldn't exist without the innumerable particles of water that form it. More shaky analogies but hopefully you get what I mean 😅 So with that in mind - Can this really be true then, if actually the whole point is the many different facets of the journey? I suppose what I'm suggesting is to play around with changing your perspective, flip it around and look at things upside down or back to front. What happens to it then? My personal point of view is that we can certainly have our beliefs and opinions, but ultimately we can't know the truth. (That's just me of course, I'm not saying it should be the case for others). So if I consider that, I can just as well ask myself, what's the point in staying there? What happens if I just start asking questions and feeling around? My philosophy for now is, never stop asking questions, and when you discover things, use those as jumping off points to ask more questions. That's where the tarot comes in for me as a wonderful tool to explore with. Now I want to make clear, I've said a lot and I'm becoming conscious of overstepping your boundaries and making it seem that I'm trying to convince you of something. I'm not, and I would certainly never denigrate another's beliefs (unless they were harmful in some way). In the end, what do I know, anyway? As I've said, I just like to turn things over in my mind and think on questions, and besides, you asked for people's thoughts in the first place and I'm enjoying the conversation 😉 One last thing before I stop badgering you; many contributors here have made suggestions about tarot practice and questions to ask it, but I wondered what would happen if you turned the tables with it and became the creator rather than the receiver. Many people use the tarot to tell stories and create narratives, would that be something to consider? Rather than reaching out to the tarot for answers, you use it to create. Who knows what might come about as a result? Just a thought.

For me this is sounds 100 % correct . This resonates with me . Every thing is LL the bumblebee ,my pain from cerebral palsy all is just different part of LL .And that`s my issue with Tarot right now I have 78 cards and everyone of these have one meaning . Is Tarot still cool and amazing ?Yes !but what`s the point if answer is the same ? Maybe journey and ideas how you see and experience it? Maybe ,but I need to think about it
-
Yes it makes sense, I would however make a gentle suggestion in response to... ...and that is, please don't diminish your experiences. Again, we may wonder if we are inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but experience is relative to the experiencer so couldn't that mean that every expression of being is therefore inherently meaningful? This week I found out that it's likely that bumblebees dream, when they sleep they go through phases of REM like states. I had no idea, how wonderful is that? A tiny, fragile creature having its own relative experience of being, its contribution to the whole just as amazing as all the rest.

Just seizing the opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your book, every time I open it I'm amazed by how generous you have been with it all. It is now the most annotated book I own...(and thanks to @katrinka who recommended it, it is truly because of her I found out about it). Looking forward to discussions you will engage in, there isn't a single post from you on this forum I didn't learn from. And above all, wishing you well.

I have two art projects I need to work on. They are entries for art contests and I often wait til the last possible day to start work on an entry before the submission deadline. It's not just because I've had limited time to work on them due to my efforts to schedule things to do or events to attend in order to meet people and socialize. It's also because I am such a procrastinator! Well, now I have all the time in the world to work on them since I fractured my ankle two days ago and am going nowhere for a while! Hopefully I'll make the most of staying home with my foot in a walking cast. I could probably go out with it on - after all, that's what it is meant for - but I will wait until I feel more secure about that. In the meantime, I will make art while my ankle heals!
-
Fantastic and super deep insight I will definitely will need to think about .Experiences definitely matter ,because that`s the way LL sees the world through us ,but there aren`t any good or bad ones in my world view ,they are just little games we are playing .And that`s the biggest issue with continue reading tarot .Hope that makes a litlle bit of sense

Sometimes I feel that we can be so reductive about ourselves and our experiences when we begin to think about the macro, grander scale of all that is... Yes, everything is a wildly complex tapestry of an incomprehensible scale that can make us feel inconsequential, but it would be nothing without each individual thread that makes it what it is. We can have the belief that we fit into an overall pattern that ultimately leads to, I don't know, greater harmony? Grace? Wisdom? But the point is, the pattern wouldn't be formed without us as individuals. Therefore, our experiences, of all shades, are important. We are after all existing as humans right now, living a human life. Couldn't that mean there's a possibility that each experience does indeed inherently matter? So in terms of the tarot, here we have a tool that we've made (one of many) that allows us a framework of understanding and insight into our experiences. If we acknowledge the importance of our unique lives, it can aid us with seeing how the pattern might be forming around us and how we fit as part of it, in whichever way sits comfortably within our individual beliefs and outlooks. We can enter into a dialogue about the whys, the whats and the hows in order to consider more deeply and learn from what's happening both within us and without us, maybe then allowing us a degree of understanding of the current that we're all riding in. And maybe, if we can access that greater understanding, who's to say that wouldn't give us the opportunity to shift our path in the current going forward? As a consequence, if more of us could make our journey downstream collectively more coherent, what could that mean for the tapestry? Anyway, this may not answer your concern @Troll and it's likely stuff that you've already thought about, but I felt I wanted to write down the thoughts rattling around in my head 🙂
